also, the mega north shore winter surf is one thing... higher, sustained surf on EVERY shoreline is the concern

they're having everyone stay off the phones/roads near the evac areas. I'm more concerned for my friend who lives/works in honolulu. he was going into work today.

he's outside the map, but will be road traffic if he goes in...

I do not have water in my kit, just hose, filters, and water bag.  I plan on draining water from tanks.  I do have a bottle of cognac and coffee supplies in my kit.
