minus the 300 miles of zero visibility on the Blue Ridge coming back up.

Looks like you had fun.
even more so when I got new tires on Monday.
The other tires where the ones that where on back when I was last up your way. Pretty trashed by the time we got down there and by late Sunday had me slipping and sliding a bit.

The belts were just about to show on the rear and the front one was toast all around.
I'm always able to fully use up my front tire it seems.

Now picture going through them full of fog.

My Brazilian coworkers were able to persuade the hotel restaurant to microwave my food for me for dinner and give me a bit of hot water so I could have a cup of herbal tea! [thumbsup]

And it looks like I will get to do a little bit of sightseeing tomorrow morning, early before we go to the conference.  We're going to go check out the waterfalls here, apparently they are quite impressive.  Will be so nice to see something besides labs, conference rooms, exhibit halls, airports, and hotels. :)

lethe, looks like a helluva trip!   [thumbsup]

'Ning all...

So, remember that flat tire my truck had this morning?

Had to take the monster to work instead.  That was fun, but slabbing it home a CHP Cruiser decided to pull me over for speeding.  [bang]
Now, I'm not saying anything, but he wrote me up for doing 82 in a 65!   :o  When I have to slab it on this particular portion of the 101, I always am sure to keep my speed within 10mph of posted limit. I keep a close watch on my speedo through this particular section because the Sheriff's Dept. is right there as well as the CHP sub-station.  If I had gotten a ticket for 75 in a 65 zone, I wouldn't be griping, because that's what my speedo indicated.  But 82?!  In CA, over 15mph above posted limit is big bad fine.  Just frustrated.

Just venting, not calling cops bad names.  I want to check how accurate my speedo is. After all, I'm about to turn 44,000 miles on an 11 year old bike. Maybe the speedo cable is warn and I really WAS going that fast.

I find it disturbing that you're imagining me in a sauna, never mind the teletubbie aspect of it

Scrubbed them in the right way too, finally got edge to edge on the Stradas, also the Quat-D has wear on both sides now too.
