Ning.  The raccoons out at my in-laws are huge mutant things. People leave cat food out and all that protein has made them 40 to 50 pounds.  Mean too.  I want to shoot them with my 22 but no one will let me.

Instead, I watch them through the sliding glass door.  They have no predators, so they are no longer nocturnal.

Good lord, those are big coons.

When I was growing up, we spent a lot of time in the state parks in Southern Indiana (Brown County State Park, McCormicks Creek SP, and my favorite, Turkey Run SP.......beautiful) and we'd always stay in the local inn in the park. At night, the coons would come from EVERYWHERE as people fed them. I used to watch one of my Aunts feed them out of her hand. They were that "domesticated" if you can call them that. I used to do it when my Dad wasn't looking, but as I got older (probably 8-10 at the time), I realized it was a bad idea.

I am not sure a .22 would take down a 40-50lbs coon unless you gave it a nice headshot or were shooting hollow points, but maybe it would. I have no idea. I'd shoot a slug at it or a .223 or .308, but that would leave a big mess.

I believe you can too in the state OH as they are considered nuisance animals, as well as coyotes, but city ordinance will bite you in the ass for discharging a firearm within city limits.

That's why I want a silencer for a few of my long guns, but I won't get into the process and why I can't even though it is legal under the Class III licensing process.

Wow, that sounds really good. I was wondering what you used as the marinating base, but olive oil sounds about right.

If you like greek marinades, I have perfected one over the past few years. I took a bunch of different recipes and sort of mixed and matched.

I don't have proportions as I just wing it with what I think will taste good.

If you are interested, I can PM it to you.

I typically use it for pork shishkabobs
