what road is that mom?

that is Lolo Pass Rd

the road is washed clean of asphalt for about 600yrds past the bottom of that picture

and

the 4y/o bridge a mile below that is done eta for that is around 2 months

the worst part of this whole mess is its simply damn inconvenient

just enough so that pissing and moaning about it makes one feel like a tool

that's the only way to anywhere that resembles civilization for you?
I trust that there's no issues getting supplies beyond that?

in Oregon, about 40miles east of Portland

in the little village of Zig Zag

its in the mountains so flooding doesn't do anything like your neck of the woods or down in OZ

but it does increase the velocity of the rivers to begin hydromining

Ok,thanks  mother, I just want to know where you guys are ... it looks like modern engineering can shift the course of the river and rebuild the road, as I say to my friends here, 'at least the 'Americans' see their tax dollars working ... in total we have had 46 days with no running water or intermintency of it ...

It is for around 300 people above us

Our road is exactly 27ft behind the road closure and about 75yds from the bridge that was damaged

we can get home without issue

the rest of the folks have to either hike out or if they are older we are running ATV's to make deliveries

Jess gets to pull shifts running the fire dept van as a shuttle bus

we had a secret rd from over the next ridge that we had cut and was only 4x4 access

then a <delete expletive> individual tried to get his Ford 550 work truck out so he could go to work

it damaged the road to the point my Jeep can't get through it even if his damn rig wasn't buried in the middle of it

so we cut a new trail and decided to make it only ATV access

it helped to cut down on the level of stupid

yeah, a 550 is just a wee bit bigger than I'd ever try to put through tight woods  [laugh]

46 days is 46 days too long ... period ...
the cost of fuel making these runs has costed us[wife & me] close to $60.00 ... plus some late going to bed the days we do have running water at night ... let's not forget the water pipe that's broken inside the main bathroom wall and floor ...

and a few tons too heavy for dirt the consistency of split pea soup

it is impressive to look at though

we have trees with roots that aren't as deep as that poor truck

I wish I had pictures
