what's up pip, painter and assorted lurkers

Hey ML (and DP and "assorted lurkers" â€" I like that one).

Working from home this afternoon after quite a few fast, furious, efficient meetings this morning.

Now, off for my first acupuncture session.
I have such high hopes.
When that happens, I'm usually disappointed.

Body parts crossed.

I have not.

The dog gets all the special treatments.    [roll]

Have you?

Ok, now I really have to go.

Until later.....

I have not, but one of these days I'll give it a shot.

I've had acupuncture a couple of times in conjunction with chiropractic.

It was...meh...

I've been meaning to try acupuncture....
I used to commute by ferry across the Bay, a beautiful 25 min boat ride.  A fellow commuter would, at least once a week, give himself acupuncture treatments on the boat. Freaked me out the first time I noticed he had long needles sticking out of his ear!  I assumed it was for sea sickness, but he would keep them in for blocks after the ferry landed (we walked in the same direction).  And he definitely wouldn't have the needles in his ears before the boat.  Anyway, I've been curious about it ever since.

It was great meeting "The Dude" at long last.   She brought us some epic beer.

Evening.  Last day of school was today.  Found out yesterday my A/C unit is dead and it'll take a $2500 greenback injection to make it work again.  Replacement anybody?

Your bike has its A/C damaged?

What part is actually damaged? Compressor? Condenser? Evaporator? Blower fan?

It's the house unit.  The compressor is bad.  It's an older Frigidaire unit, and it seems parts are hard to find and not cheap.  Air handler (blower/exchanger) is fine.  It also seems the compressor is part of the condenser too.

Not a split unit ... a window unit?

Sorry, but, from past experience, I replaced ours with a split unit and spent less money ... What's the BTU rating? Ours was 12 000 the split unit is 18 000 for a room 25'x25'x10'

It's a split unit, but for the entire house.  The outside unit is about 4' x 4' x 4' or so, which is the condenser & compressor.

Ok, I've seen those, still IMHO, you'd be better off getting a newer more efficient one. Assuming yours is at least a 5Ton model a newer 7.5Ton unit should use the same or less electricity

Ha, yeah.  I was worried youtube would take the tunes away, which is what I thought you meant.

Would you like to pick the music for the next one?

Later pip
Nope...

I prefer to mess with you. ;D
