It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

MoreNing.   [coffee]

Students taking their final exam.

Not sure what I'm going to fill my time with when classes end on wednesday.   ???

Going to be replacing my clutch on the ST soon.  Does anyone have a clutch holding tool I could borrow or have experience with using Ducati Tool Rental?

Bick, I'm glad your trip was short and you returned safely.   [thumbsup]

Don't you have to hold the clutch from spinning when you loosen the hub nut??

If you're just changing the plates all you do is pull the cover and the 6 bolts that hold the pressure plate on.

Then just use a pick to pull the plates out one or two at a time.

Easy :D

If you're pulling the hub the tool helps.  I don't have one but I've used a 1/2 drive impact gun the couple times I did it with success.

Doesn't the basket bolt to the hub with 8mm bolts and loctite?

No need to remove the hub IIRC.

Oh, you maybe right dp.

I have yet to pull everything apart.

Frankly, I'm a bit scared, but I have to do this myself.  B bought me the parts and said the rest is up to me.   :-\

You have to pull the hub.  The basket bolts to the crank and the bolts are behind the hub.

Also, since you have to pull the hub anyhow, don't bother picking out the clutch plates.

When you get the hub nut loose, pull the hub out and all the entire clutch pack will slide out with it.
