Tasmanian Eucalypt timber floor here.... the only way I get any heat from it during the colder months is if I rip it up and set fire to it  :D

Our house is built on a hillside....  sits close to the ground at the front, but enough room to walk underneath at the back. So in summer when the hot air circulates beneath.... we have radiant in floor heat [laugh].

If I owned a wood lot it would be easier to justify wood heat.

I'm all done paying for firewood, working it up and still freezing my ass off in this old farmhouse.
