Couple of questions for those who have the DP short tail...

Does it come pre-drilled for blinkers?

Could you use the short tail with an integrated taillight without looking like you are missing something?

Thanks.

I bought a DP part a few years ago that was drilled (I don't know if this is still true).  This winter, I bought a knock-off part from Monster Parts that was not drilled.  BTW, the knock-off part I have is nicer than the DP part I used to have.

Thanks for the info, looks like Monster Parts wins.

Have any idea who manufacturers the part?

The manufacturer's mark was on the underside, but I can't remember the name--sorry!

Does anyone have a pic of this tail with the Termi system. I want to clean up the rear, but really dont like the look of the pipes extended past the tail too much. A side picture would be awesome

Here's on I did for Dr. Desmo last year.

And here's my bike which it was modeled after.

It's not a DP. I refuse to use another DP carbon part as I've had very bad luck with them. I got it from Carbon World.

Here are a few more pics of my bike although the exhaust is different now:

And here's a pic of the custom Termi exhaust I'm currently working on:

well i went ahead and spent the cash for the DP CF short tail. install was fairly straight forward.

-i had to put a few washers behind the tail light so the bottom of the seat could clear it.
-the pre-drilled holes for the blinkers were not exactly lined up perfectly. the little rubber tabs that help keep them in place and are supposed to go into one of the holes were slightly off.  nothing i can really do about that but tightening the screw down seemed to keep them in place and they didn't bounce more than they usually do. eventually i'll be replacing the blinker's anyway...
-overall it seems like good quality to me and looks waaaaay better than the beer tray.

gday
good work good choice i say
although the guys who chop up their bikes do come up with good looks, i cant find it in myself to modify my Duc like that
i also have a shortened tail and DP billet alloy indicators fitted to my 2008 S4RS,
i have never understood why ducati put those horrid blinkers on their bikes even the desmosediciRR and 1098R have them  Huh?
anyway nice one

thanks punta! i think the S4's with the termi's it would look too short if i did the chop. i like my tail now  [moto]

yeah i don't know why, with such a beautiful machine, they would want to use those blinkers and the mickey mouse mirrors. i'll probably go for some rizoma prototype's for the mirrors. and i'm still figuring out whether to go with an integrated tail light/blinker unit but those blinker are going very soon.
