The 620 will do an easy 140mph with the right livery items.

I believe that's only with the high octane blinker fluid...  ;)

i like to think of monsters as a "standard" bike.  not to say its not special, but rather the contrary.

our bikes are a "standard" cut of beef.  aka steak.

sportbikes are the hotdogs.  you get more dogs for the money but some of us just have taste...    ;D

edit..
i love me some steak...but i wouldn't mind an 848 hotdog now and then.

Sorry but the 848 is filet mignon... An 848 without an engine trumps a CBR1000RR all week and twice on Sunday. Can't wait for mine :)

My 796 stops accelerating at an indicated 137...still has revs to spare...just wont go any faster.  Ill keep you posted if a reflash changes anything (performance map, less O2 sensors, and imagonna see if they can raise the rev limiter a touch and nix the electronic speed limiter...if it has one...i figure it must)

Well, I wouldn't kill you for the key, but I would certainly catch you on your bike.  I was clocked on my S4RS doing 205 mph, twice, by NORAD.  After they clocked me the first time they called up and said if I could do it again I could have the U.S. launch codes.

I wouldn't put too much faith in NORAD's numbers though. they still believe in Santa Claus

This is good entertainment for a slow Friday PM. [laugh] Norris, I wonder if they are the same launch codes they gave me? They said they knew a dethroned Nigerian leader who needed help and if I sent them $5,000 to help him out I would get $25,000 back as a thank you from the returning Nigerian monarch... oh yeah, and the launch codes for a tip! Sweet deal. ;D

??? You would have thought, wouldn't you, that other bikers, at a large gathering on a nice sunny sunday, would possess a semblance of knowledge re. rarer bikes. Over here we don't get the comedy HD pirates with their blinkered outlook, so we rely on the Japanese superbike owners to provide shockingly idiotic comments. I turned up at such a place on my lovely old Guzzi Falcone, which soon drew a crowd. "Did you build it yourself?" said one wag. "Where's your other cylinder?" said another, "Guzzi only make twins" came next from a particularly well informed individual. I tried to explain that Moto Guzzi made singles from 1921 to 1976, but it fell on deaf ears. Could be that I'm a bike nerd!

just answer next time that you did indeed build it yourself, in a cave from a pile of scraps

It's fun build from a stupid question an absolutely absurd tall tale from which none involved in the conversation can escape
