My other fave is when your standing with yiur helmet and gloves invariably someones gotta ask are you riding.

That's just a reflex question... stupid I know.. like when this happens:

Me: I got my wallet stolen!!!!!!!!
Moron: Oh no.. who stole it?
Me: If I knew it wouldn't be stolen anymore.. right?

i wonder if guys in Italy ride Harleys, and other Italians ask them if they are Ducati's. How ignorant we are.

Unfortunately there is a little truth to this.  Lips Sealed

(Not that this is now my favorite thread ever and I'm posting way too much ...what ever. )

I was in the Dainese Store in SF flipping through the racks of one piece leathers next to a guy in full leathers doing the same...helmet and SKATE BOARD in hand. Turns out he goes for land speed records down very steep hills. 75mph ...no breaks, just balls.

Like this. They actual drag knee, and have hand pucks for "dragging hand" ...
This is pretty good. There's some good slams here.]

Looks like a good time.  I'd never do it, but I'd buy the guy with the best crash a beer pitcher!

I do subscribe to the theory that the stupidist question is the one not asked...However, I got a pretty dumb question yesterday at the gas pumps.

Was filling the Monster and it has a Matris top mounted steering damper. Guy came up complimenting the bike and told me he has a bike and is wanting to upgrade and is considering a Monster. He sees the steering damper and asks, "What is that? Power steering?"

Of course I was nice and explained but a surprising question from one who rides.

I've got a side-mounted damper... I tell folk it's an airspeed indicator  Grin
