dumbest question about your bike

Friend of a  friend came over last weekend and saw my bike for the first time.  This guy gets on my nerves sometimes.  He's one of those people who knows and has done everything.  I'm sure everyone knows this type.  If you've taken a shit at the top of Mt. Everest, he's already done it.
Anyways, he looks my bike over, looks at me and says..."Why did you take all of the fairings off of it?  These things look better with them on."  I respond by telling him that it is a naked bike and doesn't have fairings.  Then he tries to tell me that Monster's are crotch rockets, and someone changed it to look like it does now.  Whatever.  Then he asks me the question that just about everyone else asks me..." Is it fast?"
Some people are like slinky's.  They serve absolutely no purpose, but they always bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

I guess it's less of a question, and more of a statement. But when I first got my bike and license, I would regularly get, "Don't kill yourself on that." Or, "I just saw a guy the other day get into this crazy accident on one of those..."

And the final, "Try not to kill yourself on that..." my response, "No shit."

I love how folks think that new riders actually WANT to hear this stuff.

That's just a reflex question... stupid I know.. like when this happens:

Me: I got my wallet stolen!!!!!!!!
Moron: Oh no.. who stole it?
Me: If I knew it wouldn't be stolen anymore.. right?

I like when someone says" it's always in the last place you look" of course it's in the last place I f@cking well looked, why would I keep looking, once I've found it.

Maybe it's being a small woman, but I always get the, "But surely you're not one of those crazy riders...you know, the ones that go between the lanes..." comment.

Silly people.  Of course I'm crazy. [roll] [cheeky] [evil]

I was wearing a Ducati T-shirt when a cashier asked if I owned a Ducati.  I said that I did.  She told me she had one too.  Hers was a Trek hybrid.  It took me a few seconds to realize she was talking about a bicycle and she thought Ducati was an Italian bike maker.  She really was a nice lady, but obviously a little confused.

Maybe not...

Ducati have partnered with Bianchi to make some kick ass bikes.

There actually is a ducati bicycle.  Or should I say, a bicycle that has licensed the name.    Italian bicycles are pretty expensive and I assume it is a smaller frame company trying to cash in on the Italian pricetag, (Or quite possibly a very clever Walmart employee with some serious spray painting skills).  The last one I was was on Ebay ($2500 for the frame).  She would be wise to keep her Trek.

it got cold here. i ride my bike everyday and always see the same guards on my way in and out. they have seen me riding pretty much every day for the 2 years since i started coming in that entrance through rain, sleet, and snow. i park within sight of the entrance and guard station.
today as i was walking in the guard looks at me agast and says "you didn't ride in today did you?"
that one always gets me, esp when i'm in full gear.

my fav question is "when are you going to get a car?"

Not a question but a lack of information somebody i know thought the bike could stand up all by itself and did not need a kickstand.  So if said person got on the bike they were just going to put their feet right up with it not moving..........
