I stopped to get a soda near the marina today. I'm sitting on a bench near the bike, and a Jag XK8 pulls up, guy and girl get out, guy comes up
"Don't see many Ducatis around here, nice bike."
Thanks
"Where's the fan?"
It's oil cooled
"Yeah, but wheres the fan? A guy I know had one of these, but his had a fan right there." and he points to the clutch housing!
I told him I took my fan off, and sealed up the hole.

His friend must be having a great time when he hears about this. I picture this guy telling his friend that he can seal up the hole where "the fan" was.

Harley guy with girl on back.. pulls up next to me . I'm in turn lane, he's going straight:
"is that thing broken"
Me: "yes, would you like to help me get it to a mechanic?"
Harley guy.. shock on face.. shakes head.. watches me pull away at the light.
Sitting on the boardwalk in OC,MD with Helmet in hand, jacket on, funny looking vented armored pants and boots:
Foreign kid: do you ride a motor bike?
Me: no i just wanted to stay out of the sun.
And as always.. do your ride a bike? is that thing yours? what size is it?
Best comment ever, when i had my 675
Standing on the sidewalk at the Ball Park talking to my girlfriend
Drunk guy: Hey, nice bike, is that a harley
me: um, no Pointing to the Triumph on the tank and stating the obvious.
Drunk guy: how are you going to fit 3 people on that bike
me: huh?
drunk guy: Well, you, your friend and the driver.
girlfriend and me: can't form a sentence.. laughing way too hard.
drunk guy: i like harleys
girlfriend: just walk away mister, just walk away.
me: still rolling on the floor in tears laughing way too hard to speak.

I was pulling into a bike show about a week or two ago. After I put in in neutral, the guy taking the two bucks to get in says "that doesnt sound good" I assume talking about the clutch.
I explained it's a Ducati, its supposed to do that.
he just looked at me with a blank look on his face. ... moron

I pulled into a Gas Station over the weekend on the " R ."
Some clean cut guy in his late 20s may be early 30s comes walking over from 3 pumps away .
He says " Is that a Ducati ? "
I say " yes . "
He asks me if there is something wrong with the bike because of the clack-a-t clack noise it's making. ?
I tell him it has a dry clutch and it's a race bike and it's running fine.
He shakes his head and says " I wouldn't want a bike that sounded like that ! " .....and turns and walks away.

Not a question, but a statement:
My wife, the day I picked up my bike- "That thing is ugly"
