So here's how this will work:
1. A member posts a price range and roasting locality.
2. Another member will respond in the thread with an acceptance of the offer to trade a similarly valued coffee.
3. Addresses exchanged by PM.
4. Public thanks and review of coffee (no flaming, of course) to be posted here upon receipt of coffee.

-Let's stay away from the big name brands (Starbucks, Peets, Seattle's Best, etc), just because we could get that in any store.

I'll start this out:

$10-15 (I think it comes in 12oz bags)
Colorado roasted
whole bean
you choose dark or medium style of roast

I like this idea, but I'm down in New Zealand, and last time a friend sent me coffee from the US, it sat it quarantine for goodness knows how long. What a waste of fresh roasted coffee...   :-\

the pure kona stuff seems mighty pricey... and we've got plenty of it here  :)

Manny, what do you propose we trade?  Brewing Market or Silver Canyon for Caribou or Peaberry?

For the West Coaster's, I have the whole west coast to cover in the next week.  What shops should I be checking out?
It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

Yeah!  I would like to play too.

I believe it's $9 for a 16oz bag - but it's quality I promise

cool!  I like this concept!  I don't care about the cost though.  I've had crap coffee that cost bank and cheap stuff that was just fine.  Peeps should post up only what they legitimately feel like sharing as the good stuff.  I think half pounds are a better idea though in case you get something that you just can't stand- and postage is cheaper.  But do as you like I suppose.   ;D

I'll post a half pound of Victor's Celtic coffee- your choice of roast but I recommend their espresso roast; either caff or de-caff are both great.  Want a surprise blend just tell me what you like.  Specify whole bean (default) or ground.
I'll have a half pound of your favorite espresso/french/italian roast in exchange, whole bean puhleaze.

PM me for the swap.   [thumbsup]

Are you going back to Durango to pick up some Steaming Bean to trade for Silver Canyon?

um, last i saw there were grocery stores up here that carried steaming bean....

i was more saying that i thought those roasters were cool and local and would make good trading material. stop confusing me, bicks, or i'll pee on your bike.

If it is in the grocery store, it was roasted too long ago.

This thread should have been started last week.  I could have picked up Steaming Bean for CA, OR and WA folks.

Anything along the route I need to pick up?

BTW, have you been hanging out with Mother?  (I am a little scared about going into Oregon)
