So as to not hurt any sensibilities, I figure its about time to make a thread dedicated to offroading.

Show us your rigs, trucks, and other vehicles that are better suited to the mud/snow/water than the street. Talk as much shit as you want as long as you keep it dirty.  [thumbsup]

I'll start.

I still think that the best platform for offroading is the short wheelbase Toyota Land Cruiser, the Fj 70, or as it known by it's common name The Macho.

It's been basically unchanged since 1987, and it still kicks everything's ass out there. Biggest change it's had in 21 years is a 4.5 injected engine in 93.

I've seen them go places that Hummers have gotten stuck in with ease.

Too bad they dont sell them in the states. I miss mine every day.

Post up!

Oh yeah Mother, I am calling you out ;D

Sweet ride. In South America you truck comes with a slightly different bodywork and components and it's called the Hilux.

There is a video somewhere of Jeremy Clarkson trying to destroy it by any means possible and failing.

Here's mine.  It's a 1959 FWD .  FWD is the manufacturer, it stands for The Four Wheel Drive Company and they invented 4WD back around 1920 or so.  It's full time four wheel drive and has a pneumatic transfer case lock switch that runs off of the air brake compressor.   I have a plow for it but it isn't on yet.

Here's another one of my machines.  This one started out as a 1942 military CCKW 6by and a previous owner put a '49 civilian cab on it.  Did a great job and unless you notice the original steering column hole in the firewall you can't tell.  It has a newer Hale firepump on it now.

Making me wish I never got rid of my DR Kni!!   Lots of riding Flagstaff off-road and a home-made track just off the highway.  The most fun I had was riding in the late winter though.  Snow and mud!     [evil]

The rest of the SUV pics is making me want that 4 door Wrangler even more!!   Looks like fun!!  [thumbsup]

i sold it about a month ago, and picked up a 93 grand cherokee back in nov for $300 thats gonna be my next project.

sorry for the lame pics... im always the one with the camera.
