Okay so after the discussion on "too Oggy knob" or "too not Oggy knob"
I have been wanting to go and do the Stay Upright Advanced course.
There are two dates coming up in June that I am looking at right now.
Monday June 2
Friday June 6
If anyone wants to come learn I'll know by next week which day I am going to book.
cheers

I was going to suggest something similar, I have done the advanced course before, always sain I would do it again on any new bike I get. I would also seriously consider the cornering and braking [moto].
Only problem is, my bike is not run in yet and the 30min free time at the end of the day is the highlight... would be soooo tempting to just give her a wrist full

Does that mean you won't be fully run in for the 31st ride then?
In anycase I will pick a date next week.

i wouldn't worry about the running in thing. nikasil bores don't need it, besides, have you seen what they do to them on the dyno at the factory!!! oh my lord!
i did the braking and cornering course years ago and back then they wouldn't let me do the advanced day till i'd done that first. well worth the time spent.

The bores don't, but the rings and gear teeth might be better off if it's run in a little gently, it's hard to say. I'm the sort of person who aims for _long_ ownership, so I'm prepared to live with babying it for a few days at the start even if there's no conclusive proof either way whether it helps in the long run or not. Mind you, that still meant I was due for my 1000km service 3 days after I rode mine off the showroom floor, and was "fully run in" by the end of the first week...

that's like me with my previous duke which was my first ever, mind you. rode it out of the shop, and spent the whole arvo/night/day just riding-refueling-riding............
had to park it than and wait a week for a spare date to do the service

I picked mine up on a Thursday afternoon, and asked to book it in for it's 1000km service while I was there. The service guy flips open his calendar to a page about 2 months away and says "when do you want to bring it in", I say "how about Monday?"... Ended up not being able to have them do it until the Tuesday, so I had to ride my Spada to work on the Monday 'cause I'd already done ~1200km by Sunday afternoon...
But I _know_ people think I'm weird... (I suspect I'll end up being a Moto Guzzi owner one day...)
