I'm with you Joe. Here's the shirt I'm wearing today (seriously).
Fuq...and this whole time I was thinking the cutoff was the 405. How wrong was I?
BTW - the westside's the best side.

It's the same as SoCal and NoCal rivalry - there is no rivalry. NoCal is born and raised to HATE SoCal, and SoCal doesn't even remember that NoCal exists.
There's an east side? And if so, why would anyone want to live there?

When you say it's (Ortega) a mess, how bad is that? Can I get thru to the coast? Is it as bad as being dirt? Ya gotta remember, I'm NorCal, the roads up here suck!!
You can get to the coast, but its not likely to be a real fun ride. The road is one lane in places. They stop all the traffic for 15 or 20 minutes at a time, and then let a parade of traffic through. Forget about riding aggressively, they are just looking to give out tickets in a construction zone.
At least this is how it works on weekends, don't know what you'll run into midweek.... check to make sure that its not closed at particular times.

Sold: 2007 S2R1000 for canyon carving and commuting - DP ECU, PCIII, BMC air filter with open box, Zard full exhaust, Race-tech fork internals, Ohlins steering damper, and a Penske 8987 triple clicker
2000 996XU (extra ugly) for track days - BST carbon wheels, Ohlins shock, reworked fork, FBF exhaust, and a bunch of megacycle rocker arms. The rest of it is junk - Hey, I'm just happy that it runs...
Sold: 2002 Aprilia RST1000 for touring - De-restricted airbox, Taylormade Racing exhaust

Thanks man. I'm down in SoCal now and saw a sign stating it was closed but didn't catch the times. My Mother-in-law said it was at night. We'll see, if it gets to be a drag, I can always turn around and go elsewhere!

If you're staying in the Canyon Lake area....
why not head South on the 15 and experience the
Mt. Palomar, Lake Henshaw, Mesa Grande, Julian area ?
Best roads down there
Ortega is one road only and takes you to nowheresville.
