and clip-ons ... killing the mirrors and reservoirs at the same time. and turn signals got to go with em.

all in all, pretty easy to take it from [puke] to :D

and add some fairings to cover up the tumor growing out of the front.  Oh wait, they already built that.   [laugh]

Looks best in the dark - very dark.

Desmosedici - it's the new Paso (except the bodywork doesn't fit as well)

Ducati has listened to everyone's suggestions and made some final changes to the production Streetfighter.

1.  Get rid of the ugly headlight and replace it with a more SBK like version.
2.  Install clipons.
3.  Cover up the big tumor in front of the motor.
4.  Use the same airbox and injectors from the SBK to get the same power.
5.  Get rid of the ugly shotgun exhaust that needs to be removed to change the rear tire.
6.  Install the 1198 cc motor.
7.  Make the bike more aerodynamic so you don't get sucked off the back when approaching speeds at which you can actually use the extra power.

Here is the final result:

In a recent magazine article they showed the acceleration curves of 600cc, 750cc and 1000cc Japanese superbikes.  They were basically dead even until 90mph and didn't really start to spread out until after 100mph when the aero drag really started to build.  So you need to ask yourself how fast will you be riding a naked bike.

Does one really have to remove the exhaust cans to remove the wheel?  Doesn't make sense to me that Ducati would do that.

I've had several people tell me they had to do the same on the S4RS.  I never rode my bike without the Termi cans, but never had to remove the cans to remove the wheel.

Good thing too as the bike eats tires like it was designed to do that.

One of the articles mentioned the fact that you need to remove the mufflers to change the tire.

+1,  [laugh] [laugh] [laugh]

I love the SF, and if I had the extra cash I would happily get one. But your right, the engine size for a naked is all for show.

Hell for Leather posted the Streetfighter's dyno numbers, charted with a nice comparison to the outgoing S4Rs:

"I'm the guy who does his job. You must be the other guy." - Donnie Wahlberg in "The Departed"

"America is all about speed.  Hot, nasty, badass speed." --Eleanor Roosevelt, 1936

Agreed!  [thumbsup]  The pearl white with red frame S4R is almost enough to make me forgive the ugly radiator.

As a compromise, when I repaint my S2R1000, that is the color I am going to go with (as of right now at least). Although I would go white fender with red stripe instead of solid red front fender.
