I noticed today that DP was the first "member" to reach 1000 posts.  This milestone made me wonder... since a toaster was the prize for reaching 1000 posts on TOB, should we come up with a new "mascot"?

Toasty is legendary, and I think his travels should continue.  But since we have a new board, do you think we should have a new appliance.

I also nominate DP (the first 1k poster), if we decide a new appliance is needed, to choose what said appliance should be.

Voting is open for 1 week.

I noticed I worded it as "replace toasty"... not saying replace him, just give him a buddy.

if your gonna do this, you need to consider the following

1) appliance must be able to transported without trouble on a motorcycle
2) appliance must have room exterior/interior for sig's, stickers, notebook, etc...
3) appliance must have some relevance. (i.e.-- toasting poptarts, which was the original tie-in)

so, how about a blender?

I say a 1/4 keg, you an strap that puppy to your back, once you drank all the beer out of it, of course.

Ok, really I would have to go with either an espresso machine or a french press, but that may have something to do with the time of day I am posting this. If it was late at night it might be a fry-pappy, but no I still say coffee stuff.

I say we all slow down and let it develop. This isn't a continuation of TOB. This is us, when something develops (like Toasty did), it will become apparent. Don't force it. Don't try to get every thread, every topic, every "official" up to the old speed. Enjoy the infancy of the DMF. It'll never be this young again.

It took a long time to get Toasty up and running. It took the random motivation of 1 member to give us Toasty. So, my opinion, "let it be."
