Since this is the Monster forum, I thought it would be fitting to report that one Monster is suing another Monster.   Could Ducati Monster be the next in line?

This sort of thing is why we tolerate the lawyers here.
If the state had not cut funding for the mental institutions, this project could never have happened.

Well, there's  a monster of a lawsuit.

Doh!!   [cheeky]

I refuse to buy their products because they are crap, sold with false promises. The "cable" technologies they purport do not exist or have negligible benefits. Maybe I'll be the cranky lawyer that has a few brews, and decides to sue them out of spite. CNET and the rest recommend hundreds of other brands over Monster Cable, and most cost pennies in comparison. Too bad BestBuy won't get with the program and discontinue stocking them.

a friend had one of their guitar cables. You could cut them in half and exchange them for a brand new one at any guitar center, no questions asked. I bought the cheap guitar center cables. I went through two of them in five years. Total cost - $30. He didn't need to replace his at all. Total cost - $70.

Who buys monster cable? it's crazy.

I recently bought 3 HDMI cable for my home entertainment center. I needed 3 6' cables. Had I gone with Monster, I could have spent up to $270 (yes, $90+ for 1 6' cable). Instead, I spent less than $8 SHIPPED for all 3 cables from a no name manufacturer. Guess what? When it comes to HDMI cable, it either works or it doesn't...

Given all the "Monster sues Monster" posts that are showing up all over the Internet this weekend, here is more info in all fairness:

I don't buy Monster Cable for a reason -- there is no reason to.  Not with other options available that are better and/or cheaper.  Just be a smart consumer!

There was a post for Monster.com trying to sue Ducati over the Monster name a couple years back.

I 've used Monster Cables among others in my Hi-Fi system and found them to be fine. They are good for Interconnects.

I have a pair of CRL 12' cables that were over $1000. They make my B & W 801s sound really fine.

Some Hi-Fi Speaker Cables are like $1,000 per foot ! Now that to me is expensive and very hard to justify.

My CRLs are like Re bar , they are so big and stiff. Probably about 8 gauge.     Dolph      :)

They're definitely not worth the price.

And they are a shitty company, due to all of the frivolous lawsuits they've filed over the years.  (ever notice on the monster.com website, at the very bottom, there is a re-direct for monster cable?  you think monster.com put that there for fun?).

I only have experience with Monster instrument/mic cables. They're overpriced pieces of :-X with bad tone.

Mogami Gold ftw!

The Monster energy drink should sue 'em. [cheeky]

this is where i buy my hdmi or anything cable related:  www.bluejeanscable.com

good stuff, no nonsense, strong terminations (this DOES matter and super cheapo cables can be poorly terminated which becomes a durability issue).

This article prompted me to check out monoprice.com --> I love it because you can get them in the colors you want. Makes wiring it up really easy: Blue cable goes to Blu-Ray. Red to Cable, Green to XBOX, etc etc etc. Makes life simple.
