Fleury was amazing in that last minute. Scuderi was amazing in game 6. Talbot worked his ass off the entire series, and even though he took some REALLY cheap shots in game 2 and 5, he was a horse.

So Detroit fans look for reasons why their team lost? Big deal. It's difficult to swallow being called a whiner while being asked to celebrate the victory of Sidney Crosby and his supporting cast.

And a 2 to 1 win is hardly having one's ass handed to them.

vwboomer

Asses handed to em? I dunno. Did you happen to see game 5? If 2-1 is ass handing time, what's 5-0?

The Wings got out played Friday night. There were missed calls all series on both sides, but the Penns definitely got away with more.
One things for certain - I'm guessin Hossa feels like a giant douche  [laugh]
2005 S4R - Sato, PM, CC, Sargeant
2005 GasGas FSE450
2004 Honda VFR

Hossa said if they signed him at what they were offering, they wouldn't have been able to get key pieces to their victory like Kunitz, Geurin and others. He said no regrets. I kinda believe him.

Even going back to when he was with the Senators, he said he'd like to play in Detroit. I doubt he feels as terrible as the commentators speculate.

As a wings fan, I feel terrible that the second highest paid player on the team totally choked in the postseason!

But Wow!, what a bunch of excuse makers and whiners !! Admit it, you were beaten by a better team. Get over it...Hockeytown, Schmokeytown. Da Burgh is, once again, The City of Champions.
+1
Every team faces injuries, bad calls, conspiracies between Kim Jong Il, Ahmedinajad, and Bettman to stop the Wings, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc...  [roll]
That's part of it. Luck plays a role, esp. with injuries, but so do hard work and desire. The Pens earned their win.

Trust me, if you pay attention long enough to Detroit fans, you will get used to their whining and excuses whenever they get their asses handed to them in the playoffs by any team. It doesn't matter what year, who their goalie is, who the refs are, its never the fact that they got beat by a better team. They always get beat by injuries, refs, cheating, or anything else they can think of.

I never knew just how whiny they were until this year. They sound like USC fans or Pats fans; there's the same apparent sense of entitlement...

Thats best hard hitting playoff series I'v seen in a long time; exciting good hockey that was a step up from the regular season.

Pitsburg won; amazingly; it mad for an exciting series.  My hats off to all the players for working hard.  [bow_down]

My 2 cents; thats all over and out.

I'v been avoiding this post; Now I'll have to go back and check the posts for opinions ....
.... all the world is yours.

I forget what the trophy for ALMOST looks like.  ;D

Here it is

Suck it.

corey

The wings had every opportunity in the world to put the series away for good.
I'll try and take some pictures of our parade today.

For now, here's jordan staal's stick nailing holmstrom in the face.

Also, here's Max Talbot Dragon-Kicking Brad Stuart as punishment for his poor puck handling...

And of course the shot that explains it all...

Go Pens.

When all the land lays in ruin... And burnination has forsaken the countryside... Only one guy will remain... My money's on...

Steve, you fail. That's for winning the conference, not almost winning (like the Preds ALMOST won). Second place is a nice way of saying losing in a winner-take-all sport.

Corey, thanks for those pics. It makes losing easier to see what "champs" the wings fell to.

Pens fans should be glad Hossa left. Without him leaving, you have no Kunitz, Guerin or a lot of the other free agent wings and defensemen that made a win possible.

corey

As far as I'm concernced, Hossa will never win a cup. He's cursed.
The Hockey Gods frown upon the shit that he pulled.

As for the wings, the shittyness of their fans at the end of the game just proves what a dump of a town detroit is.
If i recall correctly, (which i do) no pens fans were booing last year. we got beat and we knew it.
show some respect for the cup.

and look closely at those pictures... they were jokes ;D
his foot isnt anywhere near him, and staals stick is about 30 feet in the air

it must suck to get beaten twice by a guy who's biggest endorsement is a local BMW dealership.
Funny Pittsburgh Penguins Car Commercial, airing on FSN HD

haha worst commercial ever.

I was pissed last year because Pens fans were booing the presentation of the cup. I turned off the tv when the clock expired year. The booing wasn't for the pens or the wings or the cup. Both teams were booing BETTMAN. I think that's one thing wings and pens fans should agree on - that guy is bad for hockey.

Ontario_Monster

Excuse me but I think I nailed it.

Pens take it in 7 over Detroit and fullfill the Oiler's comparison of the 80's .

And the Super Bowl for 2010 goes to ........ nah you'll just have to wait, where is the fun if you already know the answer.

Ducati ..... Ducati ..... Ducati ..... It just makes me smile!

Harley drivers in short/t-shirts/and salad bowls .... make me laugh.

Agreed about Bettman.
It took me a minute to realize that the fans were booing him and not the Pens or the Cup. They did show class with some nice applause for the Cup and the Conn Smythe.
They also showed a lack of class cheering and pointing when Crosby was injured  :P
Respeta mi autoridad!

I think they cheered the hit. Crosby is a celebrated diver. I didn't realize he was hurt until he went down the tunnel.

and Steve, here's one for ya!
