I have the auto version...got 'em from AutoZone. They'll also let you rent them.
When putting spring back on, I wrapped a piece of tygon tubing (split open) around the spring to protect the new powdercoat.
Pompetta, I was wondering where you got the Tygon tubing, need to get some for a project...

I got some from amazon.com, found it while looking for something else. Do a search at amazon (for Tygon 2075) to see what their vendors have in stock. I just checked and the tubing I used for my brake reservoirs is only available in 50ft lengths. They have other diameters though.
Of course, if I looked a little harder I may have found it elsewhere, but I didn't....

That looks great. I just realized that if I would just paint my bike, no one would know what is was and less likely to be messed with. Oh well.
Good job! =D
And I like the decal on the tank too!

Bike looks great
Can you tell us what you used to strip the wheels? I need to do this soon, and really want to have very little down time.
thanks,

It took me a WHOLE make the beast with two backsING WEEK to strip them by hand. I used Aircraft grade stripper from Kleen, and it wasnt strong enough. My recommendation is Soda Blasting. Whatever coating Marchesini uses, its tough, With stripper, you still need to use steel wool to scrape it off and risk getting chunks of acidic Paint flying everywhere. Not gun.
I have the full setup @ my house to Soda Blast so if you need to get it done let me know.

Hey He Man,
I want to powdercoat my wheels black but i think it'll be a PITA to remove the tires from the rims. How did you do that? Any special tools or just took to a shop? what about the valves?
i will take mine to a shop, so what kind of prep do i need to do before i take them?
when you put the wheels back together, did you have to re-balance the tires and install new valves or just went with the old ones?
i'm still trying to decide on something with low cost, like just painting the wheel with duplicolor wheel paint.
what are your thoughts on just painting them?
thanks and sorry for all the questions

hey, just saw your post. i made a bead breaker, and used some tire irons to remove my tire. it took two people to do it, but you can get away with one if you know what your doing ( it was my first time so i had no clue)
you are suppose to rebalance them, but i didnt. My bikes been on the dyno and hit top speed and its as stable as it was before.
i wouldnt use wheel paint. its not durable and is a waste of time. however, you will need to get the original paint removed if you decide to PC them. something like soda blasting or chemical strip would work fine.

Wow....sooooo cool.
It will be so sweet when you throw that black showa spring in there. I personally think the sprocket carrier would have been nicer in black but overall its really sweet man. Wait, so the shock spring your going to put in is going to be black? I powder coated mine black.
