thats gotta be insanly heavy for a dirtbike.

Mash

It looks difficult to ride in the woods, probably because of the weight and the torque.  Would be fun on a flat track though  [thumbsup]

I only have one question...

WHY?!!!

Too heavy.

Too much power and torque to be useful in the dirt.

For 1/3 to 1/2 the money you could get either a WR or YZ.
It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

Well, it's likely lighter than my Gran Canyon.  :P

That's got to be very hard to ride.
My GC probably pumps out 65 HP or so from it's W-headed 900 mill.
Given moderate traction, it can spin the rear TKC-80 at will up to about 60mph or so.
From what I can tell, he's got the same tire.

I think someone would do it just to do it... Interesting though I would agree it would be better suited as a supermotard.

+1  [thumbsup]

I'd like to see what Ben Spies could do on a flat track with a similarly prepared version of his race R1  [evil]

Porsche Monkey

So they take off the plastics, put a dirtbike fender on it and some knobbies and its a dirt bike? ???

All the comments about weight:  Have you seen how much a BMW GS1200 Adventure weighs?

A GS BMW is not a dirt bike.

The guy riding that R-1 rides it fairly well.  Kind of fun to watch.

Neither is an R1 with knobbies.

Anybody ever done ay mountainous, windy dirt road riding? I can think of a couple dirt passes that would be wicked fun on. Think Pikes Peak Race to the Clouds.
