In Memory of Bill Culp - May 23 2008 - DESMOHIO Bill Culp Award

Last year, Desmohio lost one of our members, Bill Culp, due to a motorcycle accident.

I can't seem to find the thread I started in memory of Bill, I think it was over on TOB and it appears when I do a search, it is gone. That really pisses me off because I was going to send the link to his wife, who was very happy to see what everyone had to say. I digress.

Chris Calovini (former Chris@cyclecat), President of Desmohio, decided for our Anniversary Party this past weekend, there should be a Bill Culp Memorial Award for the outstanding member of the year.

The award is pictured below. Chris made this by hand out of wax, in three pieces, and then it was caste in bronze. I do not recall the bloke who did the casting, but he did a great job. It was made in three pieces and then welded together.

As you can see, there is an ignition on the wood stand. That is the ignition from Bill's bike, along with his actual key. Desmohio was able to get this after the accident, along with the rest of Bill's bike, which is buried in Chris's backyard, which is the Club House for Desmohio.


Everyone tip an Amstel Light to Bill on May 23rd. Rest in Piece.
