Ok so here's the plan.

I like all the gold stuff so it's staying.

I won't be mounting any artillery on the bike.

Fairing coming off.

Tail being chopped.

New indicators - style to be determined.

Contemplating the handguards - kinda like 'em

And if I can figure out how to lower the headlight - that will work.

After that I will need to wait for more $$$

I will keep you  posted as things progress..... [thumbsup] [thumbsup] [thumbsup] [thumbsup]

thanks board dudes.

I didn't see it on your list, but with your bike being black, painting that chrome ring around the headlight will make a HUGE difference.  It is simple to do and cheap.

I'm just not that handy - how did you do it?
This place feels nice. Black S4RS, CRG Barend mirrors, vented clutch cover, gold clutch plate, gold pazzo racing levers, full 50m termi system, little carbon extras....oh yeah ...almost forgot....ban corporate coffee!

All I did was remove the headlight (two mounting bolts and unhook the wiring harness), covered the casing and the lense with painters masking tape (leaving only the chrome ring exposed).  I took some Scotchbrite and roughed up the ring and then sprayed a couple (I think 3) coats of Krylon spray paint.   24 hours between coats and 48 hours before re-installing.  Just take your time taping over the lense so that the tape goes into the crease between the ring and the light, but doesn't bunch up on the edge of the ring.
The ring probably comes off, but I was just being lazy.

yep the ring comes off.
there is a screw on the under side, you can un-do it take the ring off.
get  yourself a cardboard box as a little spray booth and away you go.

If you want to get creative you can hang the ring on fishing wire via the hole in the ring then it will be even easier to spray.

I'm digging that akra mattyvas, what's the routing like on the other side of the bike?

If you want a meaner look for not much money, I would go for a pair of Rizoma LED turn signals, raise the rear end(free Mod), smaller front fender, Bar end mirrors, and a pair of Swatt 3.5 rise clipons ($130). Those clipons can be raised and lowered easily and when thy are down, watch out!! Bad ass modern Café racer!! Of course, you do have to chop that tail.

I did the clipons mod after two years of thinking about it and was surprised to find I more comfortable than the stock bars. The clipons are lower but the reach is shorter and the fact that they are angled down makes it a much more natural position for my 6'-2" frame. The stock bars are too far away in my view. i

I would love your thoughts on changes I can make that will toughen the bike up. I want it to look a little meaner, little street-smarter.

How's this?

OK, that is just terrifying.  I guess the knife has its place, but what in the hell is that handle attached to?  Or do I even want to know.

Some bikes used to come that way from the factory.  Foot clutch and hand shifter.  It was more dangerous to operate, hence the name.  In this case the clutch is still on the handle bar and the shifter can be operated by hand or foot.  Why?  Because it's cool and fits with the bad ass image of the bike.

Ah, you learn something everyday.  I know one thing for sure, his bike would kick my bike's ass.

Thanks, if you click on the OzMonsters flickr you'll see a few more snaps in a set there.
Pipe only routes to one side of the bike.

Do you mind sending me some info on where you got your Swatts and anything else to share about them? Thanks!

Sorry for the Highjack!

A tail chop will do wonders for your bike!

Depending on how sloppy it gets where you live, losing the fenders would clean up the look of the bike as well.
