I *think* the injected bikes have the same seat, so back to around 2001 maybe?  I'm not 100% certain, but I'm sure someone will be along shortly to confirm to redirect ~

Probably, although the gel is not as slippery, AKA if you're riding hard it's difficult to move around a lot on the seat.

Corbin and I think one other company makes aftermarket seats which are far more comfy from my understanding.

Or just use black duct tape.

My local dealer had a DP gel seat for pushing $400.  I have a torn place on my M750 from where the previous owner lowsided.  The seat cowl/cover takes care of covering it up for me, so I've never replaced it because good seats are spendy.

I've got a Corbin seat on mine. It rocks. Worthwhile upgrade.

Sargeants rock!!!!

corey

depends on what you're looking for really.
the sargeant has a lot of nice features. good looks, softer feel, good construction, handy underseat storage tube... but it sits alot higher than the stock seat, which is a problem for a lot of people.

I've got a corbin and a sargent for my 2001 and I'm not completely happy with either.

The corbin is like riding a wooden plank and for those who say it needs to "get worked in".........I've put 30,000 km's on it and it's still a brick.

The sargent is comfy, but sits you up high and totally changes the feel and balance of the bike. I like it for long trips, but I lose feel in the twisties.........it's like riding a barrel.

Basically, If I'm going to ride twisties, I ride the stock seat. If I'm touring, which I often do, I ride the sargent. The corbin will go on the girlfriend's bike which will be good for her as she's shorter.
