The more I look, the more the contour or evo bar makes more sense since it seems to be a 1 1/8 inch center and a 7/8 inch control area diameter. Now I just need to figure out the best rise and pull for my application. I'm very tall so I'm thinking of keeping both pretty shallow but it would help to know the stock numbers to make a better guess.

I got the ATV high SE bars, along with 1.5 inch risers and they work great. I did have to get longer lines and cables made and extend the harness, but it was well worth it. No more neck and wrist pain and the bike is way more responsive. Im 5-10, so it worked out really well. PM me, and I can give you some pointers if you decide to do it Stephen

Stock sweep angle is 18 degrees. The height/rise depends on how they are rotated, but it's less than an inch.

I've got a set of Evo Carmichaels on right now .. it was kind of a pain to get em on - with the oversize bar and all I had to have the Pro Taper adapters milled down and a hunk of aluminum milled to get it over the forks but looks good and feels awesome

I picked up some Henry/Reed contour bars today. They mounted right up with the stock handlebar mounts. there is something cool about having black dirt bike bars on there. I am in process of getting the controls mounted up but it got late. I'll post pics when I'm done. It looks like I'll get away with stock cables and hydraulic lines but it did use up the slack that was in there. Might get some separated brake lines in the future.

I put a set CR High on mine and it pretty much used up the slack in the harness and cables but works fine and are much better than the stockers.

I'm new to the Ducati Family and the site. I just bought a 2003 Monster 800S ie. I'd like to change the stock bars for,.. maybe Henry/Reed or CR High. Something higher and with more pull back. I though I saw a post where two guys used these and didn't have to change the cables or brake line. Will Pro-Taper fit the stock base? Anybody know for sure? Also thinking about adding a Omar 1/4 Cafe Fairing. Comments welcome. Sorry if I've posted in the wrong spot, newby here. Thanks

I don't know if the base for that bike is 7/8 or 1 1/8. If the bar is not tapered then it's 7/8 if it is then it's probably 1 1/8. My bars are the henry reed bend and I was able to use the stock brake lines and cables.

I'll have it this afternoon to know for sure the mount size. Would you agree that the Henry/Reed is higher with more pull back or just the same as stock? Did you mention the the cables and brake line are workable in stock length? Thanks

definitely a little higher. I think there is more pull too. This is comparing against the stock bars on an s2r1000 though. I don't know what the bars on a 2003 800sie are. My s2r1000 bars were more or less flat. Yes the stock cables, brake line and clutch line all worked with this style. Either way, protaper has bars in 7/8 straight through or 1 1/8 tapered to 7/8 so you should be able to find a bar that works for you.

Thanks loads,... I put on some stock bars from a 02 ZRX-1200 and the have a 1" rise over the stock 03 M800S bars. Felt more up-right, I think I'll run that for a while.
