That's cool as shit! We had a drive in near us when I lived in AZ, but they were all newer movies on newer projectors. But the drive in experience was the best part. Sitting in the back of my truck with a cooler full of snacks and sodas watching a movie out in the night air. Loved it!

There's an active guerilla drive-in group here in LA, but all they show is horror flicks (not my favorite genre) and they show the films about 60 miles from here usually...  But I love the movement!

There was one in Akron, but someone stole the guy's projector. Now there isn't anything.

However, we have two local drive-ins still and I try to go as often as possible. I caught "The Hangover" on friday at the drive in with a cooler of cheap beer and a bag of snacks. It was pretty excellent.

I grew up in a very conservative household in Tucson - no R-rated anything.  We regularly went to the De Anza drive in as kids and it was there that I got to see my first banned movie - Cheech and Chongs Up in Smoke.  We were there for some Disney double feature but Up in Smoke was on the screen next to us (prolly wouldn't happen in this day and age).  My older cousins dialed in the sound for that screen and we strained to watch the "bad" movie. I was probably 7 or 8.  Awesome.  Will always have a special place in my heart for drive-ins.

Later in my life in Oregon, we used to take my '69 Bronco to the Motor Vu drive-in near Lebanon, OR.  Top off, front windshield folded down, cooler full of beer and snacks - now that was the way to watch a movie.

That's awesome.  We had a drive-in up until I was in high school.  Now, it's all broken down and falling apart ~

Yeah, I've known for a couple of years, but been too lazy to drive down to W. Chester to find the McGuffin. I do however frequent http://www.beckysdi.com often. I've also driven past http://www.shankweilers.com/, but haven't watched a movie there yet. We should set up a DeVal night at one this summer!

I'm proud to have a few drive-ins that are still operational in my area. One is a mere 5min from my house.  [thumbsup]
