Just not a high end 1911. Quality of parts, fit/finish. Barrel fit. Triggers.

But they work fine.

It fits in her hand like any other 1911 would, nothing particular about its shape. There's full size frame 1911 and Officer sized frames. (shorter grip).

Her ex-brother in-law is Dave Sevigny. If anyone is into shooting, they know that name. She learned to shoot from him.

apparently somebody has heard of him.

Watching his vid's on Youtube are bad ass. The guy is make the beast with two backsing amazing.

He sort of just got into guns when he was younger, started shooting a lot, did some small competitions, excelled at it, then got signed on by Team Glock. Since then, I think he has been the world champion a few times or some big competition.

para's usually arent' held in the highest regard, but if it works, it works.

I have a friend with a Hi-Point 9mm. God knows why he bought it.

Obviously probably the cheapest gun out there. I think new ones are like 150$ or something. They even come with a built in laser sight!!!

He has shot >2000 rounds through it and never an issue. Says it is really accurate too.

I was a bit surprised by that.

I've heard of that guy too.

GD is he fast.

What caliber is he shooting?

That gun looks like it has just enough recoil to cycle the slide, but his hands seem to keep the muzzle on target the entire time the slide is cycling. . .

I believe he shoots basically a stock Glock Model 23 or at least that is what he used to shoot.

chambered in .40 cal.

Also, I think the mags are single stack.

Sevigny shoots Production Class. Sights, trigger work and that's all.

wonder if they can do anything else, kinda like how on the ol' 1911 I grabbed an EGW firing pin stop that doesn't have the big undercut edge, so I could take the sharp edge off slightly with a file, and there's significantly less muzzle jump. I mean, its essentially the stock part before a shop machines it down further

I'll find out. My CMMS instructor here at SFAUC is a Grand Master IPSC shooter. He will be shooting a match tomorrow. Sevigny will be there. This will be the first time he shot a match competing against Dave.

Such a small world that my wife's ex-bro in law is some worldclass shooter.

It's pretty funny. We were channel surfing and came across a shooting competition and Tiff goes "I think that is Dave, holy shit, I haven't talked to him in years."

Good luck to your friend  [thumbsup]

What does he shoot? Is any Caliber legal or is their a minimum?

G'Day Gunslingers  8).

My 14 year old son told me today that.... "Americans are just like us (Australians) except that they like to shoot each other"  [laugh] [laugh] [laugh].

My wife was just mentioning to me the other day that Australians are just like us (Americans) except we didn't try to ethnically cleanse our aboriginals (although we did treat them nasty, so we have that much in common!).   [laugh] [laugh] [laugh]

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Maybe the history books in OZ are more accurate.

I'm surprised you're even joking about that to be honest.
