Picked up a new backup/ccw...

Ruger LCP with the laser (when all your packing is a .380, the intimidation factor of the laser may come in handy)

For size comparison with a S&W 342PD j frame

And with a business card and extra mag

Monsterlover

Nice piece.  I see a lot of similarities to my Ruger SR9C.

what turns on the laser?

I've got an LCP. Nice little pocket pistol. Nice pairing to my Kel-Tec .32 and .380. Having a mouse gun is better than no gun at all... and harsh language! Plus I have a bad knee and I can't run away like I used to. [laugh]
I plan to list the Federal Gov't. as a dependent on my next 1040 tax filing!

I have flying honey badgers and I'm not afraid to use them!

So I took the musket apart today and took some pics and new measurements after I saw something on the barrel. It's a 70 cal...and I think it's Russian despite what I thought before.

If you look at the markings on the barrel it looks like an Imperial Eagle is stamped along with some markings that don't look like English letters.

If you look at the pic of the inside of the lock along with some numbers there is a marking near the front above the spring that looks like a pick. That marking also appears on the barrel.

Anyway triangleforge has offered to submit the info to an expert on antique muskets to see if I can find out more about it.

OK, DP I've been waiting patiently since the end of January to hear or read something about your heirloom firestick. What did you and triangleforge find out about it? Did you get it put back together? Any parts left over? [laugh] Curious minds want to know. ;D

All back together...No parts left over. ;D

It's remarkably simple.

I haven't heard back yet. I did do some more on line investigation, and got even more confused.

It's possible what I thought was the imperial eagle is in fact the Austro-Hungarian crest...which makes sense. T's family on that side came from the Alsace region.

I guess we'll just have to wait.

The musket still hangs on the wall waiting to learn it's identity.

All good. Just waiting to hear about what it is, where it came from and maybe how her family ended up with it. Sounds like a good story in the making. Still nice to have it with the family and hanging on the wall! [thumbsup] Let us know what you ever find out. [popcorn]

Did you ever find out the history on your Security Six? Like how old it is? Looks they made them from 1971-1988. And they were Ruger's first venture into the double action revolver market. That box is looking pretty old. You ought to contact Ruger, I bet they can tell you it's birthdate. [thumbsup]

Never did.  I might look into that.  It was very likely bought in the 70's, but I can't be sure.  I'll look around online.

Local shop has a Colt Cobra I may look into purchasing ~

I've got a stainless 4" King Cobra. It's a really nice, stout, medium framed .357mag. It's no Python but still a damn nice revolver. Never fired a Cobra. Let's us know if you find out anything on the Security Six.

I have the same gun, very fine finish in old school nickel.  I love a good 357 revolver.
