That is beyond taking the piss!
I hate having tyres changed, my shop has always done it with care and I usually hang about and watch/chat.
My wheels were just painted and Rob didn't want to put the rubber back on for almost a week just to be sure.
That is a shop that cares and they are just stock painted rims.

Then it is a long way to come to Sydney to change your rubber.
Hope it gets sorted and they take responsibility.

And this, friends, is why I am getting a no-mar changer setup when I get sweet wheels ... Like my friend Steve.

Yikes  Undecided

Cheers,
Adam

I've had one for three years.  One of the best investments I've ever made.

...he told her that it should just rub off that it's normal for  CF wheels to do that when you first put a set of tires on the. I can't wait to stand eye to eye with this fella.

What a genius.  He must have meant it's normal for only the front wheel to do this?

Just brutal.

Spoke with them shorty after posting this. Manager is not going to be in till tomorrow and he has to look at them. Hope they make right. If not there will be some major hell raising  Police involved. These suckers were not cheap and I'm not a wealthy man.

(BTW the wife is in the dungeon for a week for bringing them home without saying anything to them)  Evil She says he told her that it should just rub off that it's normal for  CF wheels to do that when you first put a set of tires on the. I can't wait to stand eye to eye with this fella.

You should ask him why he didn't just rub it off.

Might be worth mentioning that being cool with them (in the beginning at least) might lead to a better outcome.  I mean, I would sit on the cock sucker, mother f..., stupid son of a bi.... stuff until it becomes obvious that they are not gonna make amends.  As much as it is probably deserved, the main thing is to get your wheel replaced (or rubbed out  Huh? - how do you rub scuffs out of carbon fiber clearcoat anyway?).

I bought the Harbor Freight Changer and the No Mar bar. I changed my first set of tires in a bout an hour and a half. That is with taking them off and back on the bike.

Thanks for all the responses. This is why I love my Ducati. You don't see this much support on a typical sportbike forum... waytogo

Just got back from the shop. I was able to keep my cool when I found that the fella that did the mishap had the day off...Went real smooth the manager was very apologetic. My take to him was a polite golf style response of "hey man accidents happen."
They are going to get back with me Monday at the latest to let me know the time frame for replacing my wheels. (seeing how they do not carry them and hadn't even heard of BST?) Looking at the rear wheel it also had some minor scaring on it too. Both wheels will be replaced.  waytogo
I was really hoping to drive the bike to Nashville this weekend...PITA, but it's all good... Angry

How much does a decent balancer and changer setup cost?

Ummm, I get the feeling they may retract (or attempt to) their offer when they find out how much they cost. Especially since they have never heard of them (WTF?)

I have to ask. Why the make the beast with two backs would you take those wheel's to be mounted by a shop that never heard of BST's?   Huh? Huh? Sad

Naw they will make good. (fingers and toes crossed) I let them know the price of the wheels....several...several...times Wink

If not I get to make them. If that be the case I am getting much free stuff from my local cyclegear shop...

I'm in Memphis TN guys where a least 85-90% of the soprtbikes around here are raked out drag bikes....with neon....We have bike night on Beale Street Wednesday nights and you don't wanna know how many other cycle owners have walked up to me and said "What's wrong with your bike?" Simply because they've never heard a dry clutch.
