looking good , so are you going back to the stock headlight too ?

Ducatl

Nah, sticking with non symmetrically mounted duals for now...I'll eventually figure out something I like ;D

Don't listen to these guys. Stick with the current headlight setup.

Don't worry, it'll still be different ;).  Really the reason for the switch back to the u-bracket is simply because I can't figure out a better way to simultaneously route and hide the hellish amount of cabling that runs through the triples.  As it stands I've got one of the headlight ears flipped and reversed, I'm going to experiment with a couple of different ideas once I get some new light posts from Trail Tech and some Titanium nuts to mount them.

Only about $30 and it's 1"x7"x30" chunk of machine quality 6061-T6.  I've become a big proponent of buying scrap off of eBay, you can find seriously insane deals if you're patient...To put it simply, this piece of aluminum was very nearly a big piece of titanium :(

Rough cut of the second and final trial mount with mock-up peg, after some more machining these will get hard anodized black.  The peg is what I've been using for mockup, next step is to get the new pegs machined out of some titanium bar [evil].  Final version will be black mounts, titanium pegs and black exhaust mount.

It is actually, kinda wish I'd gone a bit thinner but there's still more machining to be done on this piece and I doubt the extra stiffness can hurt ;).

Duck-Stew

If you chip away some of that to reduce weight but keep the 1" thickness, you'll find it's probably just about right for rear-sets.  There are/were some $150 rear-sets on Ebay for Monsters from England.  I bought a pair, mounted it to a frame (they were about 1/2" thick BTW) and when you stood up on the pegs alone, they flexed like MAD.  Incidentally, I still have them and won't ever sell them or use them.  They need to be destroyed....
