Ah, then you've never seen a bevel drive twin with a Gear Gazer installed, have you?    (You're probably a youngster!)

(Probably saying wtf is a "bevel drive twin....")

I've seen pics, but nothing in person.  Yes, I know what a bevel drive twin is though.

We'll see...I could be wrong about the clutch window not looking good.  Wink

I've seen this one a couple of times.  Apparently it's from STM Italy initally designed for a Honda CRF 450, there has been talk about more applications, hopefully Ducati is among them.

it's really just a matter of someone with that high-density lucite or clear polycarb stuff lying around that has a cnc doing it.

Damnit!  I've had a dry clutch.  I don't have dry clutch envy.  I like my wet clutch.

Put me on the damned list for a clear cover for my 800.

Damn aftermarket companies!  How am I supposed to explain this to the CFO?!?!?!?!?

dude, it's a safety issue.  you need to have a "clutch inspection window" installed so you can gauge the wear of the clutch, or you'll crash.

I knew there was a reason I liked you.

Sound advice, that.  I appreciate your concern for my safety.  The fact that the collective here has gone out of there way to help us identify ways to make our bikes safer means a great deal to me.

I think those clear covers are cool, but our bikes dont have just a clutch cover, its the entire engine case.  It would be cool to have it machined somehow and add the lexan with some nice stainless rivets.  I guess there would be a lot of downtime for something like this, or maybe a core swap if that person does a lot of wet clutch mods.

I have done a really expensive wet clutch mod.  I did it a while ago so it looks old, but it will never go out of style

Folks, you too can lowside you bike and scratch the shit out of your clutch cover!  Grin

hopefully this works out even though its not just a clutch cover, but an entire engine cover.

not much we can do with the s2r 800 wet clutch cover as the cover is dished Personally I like the APTC clutch as I just got back from a 2 day flogging .Put 860 miles on the bike in the sweet central Oregon twisties.  Grin Wet clutch meant I can bang it down just before the corner, keep rpm up high on the cam, and yeeehaw! Don't need to brake, just enjoy.
Wet clutch covers may not be too pretty, but what's inside makes all the difference, I am hooked! waytogo

it appears someone is already in the process of making a clutch "window" for the s2r800...  Roll Eyes
