So as many of you know, I recently sold my Monster to Swampduc. The sale of the bike was induced by the fact that I haven't felt much like riding over the past few months. Well, that was the main reason. Also on the list were the fact that there were so many unobtainium parts on it I was terrified to crash. It was always in my head whenever I rode and when I took it to the track last year, I babied it all day for fear of throwing it down the road. I really felt like I needed a bike I could ride and take to the track without worrying too much about it.

So with that in mind, I give you my latest "project"........

Those of you who know me know how anal I am about keeping my bike clean. Needless to say, I didn't need to worry about the previous owner keeping it clean. This is what I found when I removed the fairings....

It came with a few carbon accessories and I added a small brake upgrade......

 Check out the milage  Shocked

And a few more carbon bits that came with it.....

So where do I go from here?  laughingdp

Well, it's painfully obvious to me that you have bitten off more than you can possibly chew.  So with that in mind, I'll help you out and take it off your hands.

Seriously, right now!   Grin

Lol. Sure, give me $11K and you can have it! I'll include all the carbon too. Speaking of which, it's all made by Carbon Dream which makes some of the nicest carbon on the market. I have the receipt for it and it was over $7K!  Shocked

Seriously though, I'd be surprised if there were many of this model Superbike left in this condition. The previous owner was 50 years old and almost never rode it, hence the 5754 miles on it. I'm pretty anal about the condition I keep my bikes in and even I was impressed at how well this bike was taken care of.

I hear you.  I lucked out when I found the Sport1000 that I bought.  The previous owner took wonderful care of it when it was in his hands.  I would love to have a 996/8, but you are right when you say there probably aren't that many of them left in that sort of shape anymore.  So with that in mind, think I will have to focus my attention on a '05-'06 999/S/R.

Sweet ride. waytogo

I just picked up a '00 996 with less than 2,000 miles almost as clean as yours.

BTW, if you throw on the carbon clutch cover, I'd be interested to buy the stock one off you.

Sorry, I left that part out too I guess. The previous owner just had the 6K service done complete with belts and valves. And it has a lightweight flywheel.  waytogo

I do need to do something about that closed up clutch cover though.  Roll Eyes
