What's a "Fire Control Engineer" and why is the pay scale so big ($28k-152k)? The job descriptions are rather vague on the us jobs site.  Undecided

Don't  know what a civilian fire control engineer does, sounds kind of like designing systems to put out fires.  But, a military Fire Control Officer gets to blow stuff up with big guns.  Great job.

Ug... That usajobs.gov site is a PITA. Firefox didn't like it and kept giving me errors while trying to create my resume on there and when I switched to IE I no longer got errors but the pages took 5 minutes to load.  Huh? Thanks to Andy for sending me a posting that I missed.  waytogo

What about CalTrans and the company that did the Bay Bridge repair?? On second thought I guess a state job in California is not a slam dunk these days.

I actually got a job once through the state employment office.  It didn't turn into a career, but it paid the bills and I soon found a real job.
