What is the Italian word for 'moron'.
«

I installed the Ducati Crankcase Breather Vent Filter Kit from TPO 2 days ago: I had to remove the tank to do so (I ride an S4, and Ducati made NO attempt whatsoever to neaten up the mares nest of host and wiring on the 916 engine).
Long story short - I am not sure if I have reconnected the two fuel lines correctly. They are labelled M and R respectively - which stands for two Italian words (of which I am ignorant) that would normally be printed on a sticker on the underside of the tank (no such sticker on my bike).
Any advice would be appreciated.
The two lines go into the throttle bodies.
(1)Tank underside: TWO outlets. I have installed hose R onto the outlet that is closest to the
front
of the bike; hose M is on the outlet closer to the back of the bike.
(2)Throttle body in profile. Hose M (labelled) enters the body closest to the front of the bike; hose R attaches to the body closest to the rear.

M = mendata(?) (feed) and R = ritorno (return).
I labeled mine with a sharpie before dismantling, but I'm away from my bike and I'm not much help.
Hopefully, Speeddog will answer, as he's an expert and he has an S4.
However, if you fit quick disconnects, orient the M and R quick disconnects in different directions, and you'll never get them confused again.

you have connected the R & M same position as mine, 03 620, should be the same with your S4.
have you tried fire it up?

Ah, feed and return! Still not sure if they are in the right orientation, but now I have something new to google!
I would normally label everything, but I started this job just prior to a ride... and then it became a 'rush' job when I couldn't fit the breather without removing the tank

Good to know it is the same as your bike! Yes, I've fired it up, it seems to run fine. Just don't want it to STOP running when I am 30mins from home.

if you had the feed side going to the low pressure side of the regulator i don't think it would start, as the reg wouldn't let any fuel through.

Italian word for idiot or moron is scemo (masc.) or scema (fem.)
Pronounced
shemo
My dad used to call me that quite often
scemo just means silly its not even as bad as stupid. which is stupido.

I don't have my bike in front of me.
Service manual is no help on it.
Owner's Manual has a pic, not sure how clear it is.
AFAIK, all of the '02 and later steel tanks will have the same inlet/outlet configuration.
