This morning a good friend high sided on the highway down there, he had a bungie net get caught up in his rear sprocket. He's  got a concussion, some minor rash and a possible broken collarbone. He was down there for a music fest, we arranged for a ride back to Boston with one of the bands playing the fest. The problem is that we have no way to get his bike back for a week or so. Would anyone down there know of a cheap storage space or somewhere that we can store his bike until we can get down there to pick it up?

I'm not there right now, but I'm from there.  Lemme put out some calls to my folks down there and see what I can do.

By the way, where is the bike now?  PM me with your information...I texted my sis and asked if she'd help out.

Edited to add:  got in touch with my sis, and she is willing to help out.  Shoot me a PM if you still need a hand.

It's a long shot, but if you can get it to Western NC or close by, I've got a garage that it can stay in for a bit.

JM,

I am from Memphis and my sis can put it in her storage with the other motorcycles so he'll have some company.  She has a trailer and tie-downs as well.  I'm wondering if the OP found a place, because I haven't heard from him.  :shrug

I think we found someone to store the bike. I just heard from them down in Memphis that they should be ok with it.
My friend is being released from the hospital right about now and heading back to the motel for the night. Thankfully he was wearing his full-face because he landed on his head/face. He said that right when it happened a bunch of people stopped to help and one of them was a trauma center nurse.
He's being put on a plane in the AM headed back for Boston.
Thanks for the offers, I think we should be ok though.

Glad to hear your buddy is alright and the bike has a home for the time being  waytogo

unfortunate about the collar bone, I hear that is a rather painful injury.

I got word he had a bit more injuries than originally thought, when my other friend who was with him went to get him a change of clothes at the motel, they did some more tests because he started to have a hard time breathing. It turns out that he had some broken ribs and a collapsed lung. He still in the hospital until at least tomorrow. His girlfriend is flying down right now and hopefully he'll be ok to fly back.
