I dunno, I can see the cup holder being really useful on a city/commuting bike, especially if you work in an office without palatable coffee...

just screams 'sturgis/loretta lynns/bike week' Drink 'n Ride mentality. I'm just not into booze on the bike. And can't really drink through my full-face helmet, and would spill anything that wasn't sealed going around turns. Why not put it in the backpack or tank bag then?

Its kinda like old BMW cars that didn't come with cup holders. "Why do you need a cup holder? You shouldn't be drinking, you are driving."

Gawdammit, because some of us only have bikes, which means if you *ever* want take out, fast food, or coffee when you get into work, you need a cup holder. Sometimes work ain't got coffee, and you don't have time to go somewhere and drink it, hence it needs to find it's way back to the office.

Wedging it in your tankbag sucks, and typically spills coffee on work shoes, and those spillproof cups ain't always spillproof. Sure, you could find a way around it, but don't tell me you've never craved some junk food so bad that you just had to go get it?

fair enough. i try to get water everywhere, and tap is fine with me. so i usually pass on the "meal-deal" and save a penny or two.

but how's the drink going to stay in the cup holder, and not leak coke all over the side of your bike?

Beats me-most of these places are 2 miles from me-AKA, you could make it in good time on the bike even not leaning, but you ain't walking it during mealtime.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Tassels.

I don't understand why a man would add these to any motorcycle.

The only other two-wheeled vehicles with handlebar tassels belong to 8 year-old girls.

I couldn't agree more. I can't figure out if its supposed to be reminiscent of the exotic dance clubs where the ladies where tassles, or if it was from grips wrapped in leather, and there was excess at one point. it looks absurd no matter what, and seems like it would be annoying while you rode.

Training wheels.  Definitely, training wheels (NOT a trike) on a H-D.
