07 gsxr 1000 repairable - $3900 (nw sub)
2007 gsxr 1000 1,200 miles crashed salvage title. I bought it to fix and ride but I need cash more then I need the bike. I have most of the parts to fix it. Needs subframe, body kit, and the tank needs repair or replace. the frame and engine are fine.

Reminds me of Gregory Hines with a flame thrower in "The Deal of the Century"...

"It just needs a little touch up!"

...and Al Pacino in "Scent of a Woman"...

"If I was half the man I used to be I would take a flamethrower to this bike!"

Actually, now that I look at it more closely I may have to take a look at it. It'd be fun to fix up. and relatively cheap. What do you think?

Those are sad pictures. How does one mangle a license plate like that? I think the cinder blocks are worth a lot more than that poor Honda. Tongue

"Complete Bike"- http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lgb/mcy/1520116645.html

After calling the guy says it's missing the tank the seat and the rear fender. I might still look into it if I can find the parts, but a little sketchy about his description. The engine is probably worth as much as he's asking though.

No clue. I just looked it up and all I could find is the 996 for 2001, which would be worth fixing for sure! This guy seems sketchy though. I'll have to find out before I go driving to Long  Beach. Anyone know if a SS tank will fit a 996?

SS tank will not fit a 996.

No 1000SS in '01.

Just called. It's a 996. That tank is gonna be tough to find. Price is right though, just for the motor.

That is a hell of a deal. I think I may be a Crack Addict for this, but I don't think I'm gonna go for it. The parts are going to be impossible to get, and I am not experienced enough to ride that thing anyways. I'm gonna regret this I'm sure. (says to himself "let it go. Let it go man.")

Parts aren't that hard to get.

An $800 996 is gonna need a lot of work, and you're right, too much bike for you right now.
