No clue. I just looked it up and all I could find is the 996 for 2001, which would be worth fixing for sure! This guy seems sketchy though. I'll have to find out before I go driving to Long Beach. Anyone know if a SS tank will fit a 996? |

SS tank will not fit a 996.
No 1000SS in '01.

Just called. It's a 996. That tank is gonna be tough to find. Price is right though, just for the motor.

That is a hell of a deal. I think I may be a Crack Addict for this, but I don't think I'm gonna go for it. The parts are going to be impossible to get, and I am not experienced enough to ride that thing anyways. I'm gonna regret this I'm sure. (says to himself "let it go. Let it go man.")

An $800 996 is gonna need a lot of work, and you're right, too much bike for you right now.
