I like this one:
http://fortcollins.craigslist.org/mcy/3892986504.html

"1973 Harley Davidson Sportster 1000 good condition project needs a little
for a little bit of work uh good running bike when it's all fixed up give me a call my name is..."

It's a 'good running bike' once it's actually running  laughingdp

If you are going to all the effort, why not replace the wheels with something you can actually find tires for?

I can't stop going back to look at that hideous pile of crap. Easy Rider meets Pee Wee's Big Adventure. What an awful thing to do to a Ducati..

Astonishingly it's not the worst one... but I can't find a picture of that one right now.

Nope.  Other than the excessively wacky gauge and headlight mounting, that one isn't a total write-off.  It looks like it's still rideable.

The one I was thinking of they used one of the "off-the-shelf" hardtail frames, but welded random bits on to meet the stock mounting bolts.
