Fight night!!

Who you got?!

Me..Griffin, Silva and Nogueira.

I'd like to see Evans win since he's MSU alumni and undefeated but Griffin should take him.

Should all be good though!!

None of the above. I always thought that Evans was not respected. I was hoping Nogueira would win, but I guess we can't win them all. Great fights all around. They truly saved the best night for last.

oh sh*t!!  Really?!  We didn't go see the fights since I put myself back of commission this afternoon.   Roll Eyes  Fell asleep with the muscle relaxers before the fights started so didn't order them at home either.

I like all these fighters and it was hard to choose.  I'm not disappointed by any of the results though.  Well, maybe a bit cuz I wanted Nog to beat Mir and then get a shot at beating Lesnar too.

So, did Silva get KO'ed this time??

Good for Rashad!!  applause

Ahhhh..where are the links?!

Jackson fought at a measured pace and let Silva stalk him for the first two minutes of the first round. Silva tried a three-punch flurry and Jackson countered with a thundering left hook that blasted Silva on the chin. "The Axe Murderer" was out before he hit the floor. When he did, his arms went straight back like he was making a snow angel.   laughingdp

evans is also a dbag for telling griffin to kiss his balls in the middle of the match. i got into an arguement with my Muay Thai instructor since he said, booing is the lowest form of sportsmanship ever.

at the same time, dissing your opponent mid fight is my personal low. its a pro match. no need to pull stupid shit like that. Expect to get booed if you pull that shit off.

Of all the fights, i dont mind losing any of them, but to see evans now 18-0-1 i want to see him loose. he doesnt deserve the title. I dont think griffin did either. rampage defintely deserves it out of the last 3 hands. The last title match against forrest, rampage barely put up a significant fight. he looks alot better now.

in the middle of the fight while griffin was throwing a few combos at him, evans backs away  and kisses his hand and grabs his nut sack then smiles.

We learned a lot with the outcome of the Mir/Noguiera fight. Mir was able to show he's still relevant. We've learned Noguiera doesn't have the chin he used to. If he was knocked down 3x by Mir, I don't think he could last a 5 rounder with Brock.

I'm sad for Silva, but not surprised at the outcome. On paper, Rampage is the better fighter. I just wish Silva was able to put on a better showing. But I guess his huge loopy punches are going to cost him against more technical fighters.

I feel the same way about Griffin. Rashad was going to be a tough fight since he's so quick. I thought it was going to end a lot faster for Griffin or by a spectacular knockout. But Griffin impressed me a lot with how he handled it  and I thought he was going to cruise to a 5 round decision.

I'll put it this way. I'm not surprised by the outcomes, but I'm not a huge fan of Rampage or Rashad. I hate the nipple tweaking, taunting, insane car chases, mental breakdowns etc.

What I find really surprising is how poorly former Pride fighters are doing in the UFC.  Pride was always a dodgy outfit that put on its fair share of works and freakshow boughts, but I never imagined that the habit included their super stars.  At this point, I'm questioning Fedor's abilities until he decides to fight in the States for a reputable organization (which, it seems, he's doing everything in his power not to do, including making absolutely laughable demands for such a fight).  At this point, the only Pride fighter who's done well in the UFC has been Rampage, who often complained about Pride's questionable policies while he was with them.

Despite his record, I haven't respected Evans.  Sure he knocked out Lidel, but Chuck's on the downward side of his career at this point.  Griffin isn't a talented fighter, but he is huge for a 205er, and so is heart.  Rashad showed that not only is he talented, but strong and durable.  I can't wait for an Evans/Jackson fight.

And Mir's stand-up was amazing.  Who knew?  He looked soft, but he kept up a great pace and had the best hands I've seen in that weight class. Most heavies throw 1s or 2s; Mir was throwing three punch combos and finishing them with front leg kicks to the head!  Technically sound boxing.

As for Lessnar beating Nog, I sincerely doubt it.  Lessnar is a phenomenal athlete and an absolute freak physically (anyone notice his crazy, cave-man like brow-ridge?  That's a tell-tail sign of HGH use), but his Jits is amateur, and any decent purple belt or better will catch him.  Unless Dana really takes care of him and feeds him strikers only, he'll never hold the belt for very long.

What you also failed to mention was that after Rashad grab his nuts, he punch Griffin. Caught him looking. Anyway, I'm sure Dana would have fed Brock as many strikers as possible until his bjj was up to par, but he won't be able to do that anymore. Mir will unify the title as long as he doesn't do something stupid, like stand right in front of Brock's right hand.

Wow what an amazing PPV.   Not a single fight went to decision.  I wanted Silva, Nog, and Griffin to win but wasn't dissapointed with any of the fights.   Silva really did get knocked the f-out.

So here is where we are at;  Mir gets on the cage and tells Brock he wants the belt back.  Before this Brock tells Rogan and Goldberg that he wants Mir to win because he is due an asswhoopin.  I just bought tickets for the March 7th show in Columbus.  We are praying that this fight goes down then.  I understand that I am the only Lesnar fan on here but if I was Mir I would not want a pissed off Lesnar coming for me.  The calls in their first fight were very questionable (especially the 2 standups) and Lesnar came damn close to beating Mir.  Now Lesnar's standup is exponentionally better.  To me Mir is going to come out and try to strike with Lesnar and is going to get knocked the f out.  Maybe after Lesnar beats Mir who just knocked out Nog for the first time in his career Lesnar will get some respect.  Oh yeah I'm pretty sure every fighter is tested for roids.  One last thing, did you see the Couture fight?  Lesnar manhandled him easily and Coture is one of the best wrestlers in MMA.

So when Lesnar beats Mir and is the undisputed champ will you respect him or just make another excuse for why he doesn't deserve to be in MMA?
