So when Lesnar beats Mir and is the undisputed champ will you respect him or just make another excuse for why he doesn't deserve to be in MMA?
He has to beat him first. Lesnar already lost to Mir and at the time Mir didn't look half as good as he did against Nog last night.
The only skill Lesnar has is being big. That's why he doesn't get any respect.

Lesnar sucks almost as much as the Buckeyes. But I digress. Lesnar is a wrestler and will feel more comfortable with the ground and pound game. I will agree that he looked better against Couture, but he's also 100 years old and that was his first fight since returning to the UFC. Mir is an extremely intelligent fighter so I doubt he'll stand in front of Lesnar. He'll move around and make Lesnar take him down. Once there, he'll need to survive the barrage of hammer fists hoping to get into a decent position to pull of a submission. But he'll need to survive first.

Wow what an amazing PPV. Not a single fight went to decision. I wanted Silva, Nog, and Griffin to win but wasn't dissapointed with any of the fights. Silva really did get knocked the f-out.
Oh yeah I'm pretty sure every fighter is tested for roids. One last thing, did you see the Couture fight? Lesnar manhandled him easily and Coture is one of the best wrestlers in MMA.
So when Lesnar beats Mir and is the undisputed champ will you respect him or just make another excuse for why he doesn't deserve to be in MMA?
HGH isn't "roids" - its far harder to catch. However, steroids are very easy to hide. The half-life of most is very short, so you simply cycle off a month before you're going to get tested. Lesnar claims that, during the summer before he began his college wrestling career, he put on 40 lbs. of muscle. That is virtually impossible to do clean. The guy is no stranger to the syringe.
But that's all moot. He's a freak-show with name recognition who beat an old man who weighed 40-50 lbs less than him and who wasn't known for his submissions. Lesnar has no jits to speak of and will be schooled by Mir again. Gonzaga would also beat him, as would Nog - basically anyone with a real purple belt or better would catch him. He doesn't have the time to go develop a world-class submissions game. Due to his draw, White will feed him kicking-can strikers to keep him in the UFC. After his loss, I expect him to get paired up with Tim Sylvia (who could beat him) or Checky Kongo (who probably couldn't beat him). Might as well let him fight Bob Sapp or Kimbo and make a real Japanese-style freak-show of it. While Dana's at it, he could go dig up Giant Sylva and let him have a crack at Lesnar as well.

Pretty hard for Lesnar to fight Tim Sylvia since Dana kicked him out of the UFC. I'm guessing Kongo will fight Nog next and the winner of that fight will get a chance at Mir/Lesnar. I love the fact that everyone just writes Lesnar off as a freak. First off he was a 4 time NCAA champ pretty hard to do without any athletic ability. This is just the same shit everyone was talking before the Couture fight. Once he beat Couture everyone just gave all the discredit to Randy and no credit to Lesnar. I'm sure the Lesnar has done steroids or HGH or whatever but not wanting to and wanting to be in a real sport is why he left a lucrative career in the WWE. Its fine with me if you don't like him or the Buckeyes but I have never once attacked a fighter or any other team. I thought this thread was to discuss opinions on MMA and not attack people.
Anyways we don't even know when this fight is going to take place. I am now looking forward to the Penn/St. Pierre fight. That one is going to be a war. Also wondering what is going to happen to Wanderlie. Dana might get rid of him because of his record. I really don't see a rematch with Rampage coming anytime soon because Rampage will be fighting for the belt. I do agree about the fighters from Pride sucking it up. I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that you can do steroids in Japan and also the fights and refs are set up to help popular fighters win and continue to win.
Edit: Sorry if I am taking something said to0 serious. I really like this thread and love to talk MMA. I've just had a bad couple of weeks topped off with my Grandpa passing away Satruday and losing my job in 3 weeks.

No big deal. My grandma died on my birthday in September and we knew he wouldn't make it much longer. He has been really sick and in Hospice for the the last month so I was ready for it. I had a Miller High Life during the PPV for him (his brand not mine). Still worried about the job though. Luckily I get a severance package and a retention bonus so I'll be alright for a while.

You're not ruffling my feathers - we're just talking MMA. Sorry about the last couple of weeks; this time of year can be hard.
Lesnar IS a tremendous athlete - there's no question about that. I just think he's too late to the game to develop into a world class fighter. If he had made the transition 5 years ago, it'd be a different story. He'll still knock a lot of guys out, but he's always going to have trouble with submission guys. I'd love to see him and Fedor fight, but unfortunately it appears that Fedor is afraid to fight in straight organization.

The only issue i have with lesnar is that he only had a couple of fights then a title shot. Given how unpredictable this sport is there should be a minimum number of fights before a title shot, or some sort of ranking to fight for the title. You get enough no name fighters and some one will get lucky punch or submission. But i guess lasner had a better agent.

Damn you beat me too it. My gf just bought me that jacket on Friday. If you have a Puma store nearby almost all of the Ducati gear is 50% off including boots.
I can't wait for this fight. I also can't decide if BJ taking a couple of days of bothers me or not. I can see his side and how you could get burned out but if he comes out flat or too cocky GSP will destroy him. I do think he has a point when he says GSP gives up though.

With GSP you have to come out very aggressive. You can't give him a chance to pick you apart, but he has the skillz to destroy you with your own game. Although they have fought each other earlier in their career, neither of them has fought someone as well rounded. They both have killer stand up, with GSP having better wrestling and BJ better BJJ. I would not want to pick a winner of this one.
