That sucks. Yeh, I'm actually interested in the SC, and will prob. get one some day. I'm actually selling my monster because it doesn't make sense to have two bikes and only ride one (the 675 is just too much fun). Getting married soon is also a factor, or else I would keep the monster forever.

Gonna demo a 675 tomorrow. Anybody have experience with em? I really hope I don't like it more than my Monster. Rode an 848 two weeks ago and hated it. Killed my wrists real quick.
Maybe I'll tag along and watch the show

Hehe, I held off as long as I could. I'm lucky that she likes motorcycles and doesn't mind me riding. She has no idea how big my collection will get when/if I get out of the city and get into a house with a big a$$ garage.

Best part about Ducaholic, We are in for a "Real World" review.
And based on where he lives, he either has a thumb in the air right now, or his middle finger.
Poor salesman.
I personally think it is one of the better handling bikes on technical roads/track that I have ever ridden. And yes like some have said, suspension is where it's at
The bike is Very compact, especially compared to the generous cockpit of the new Ducati SBK's.
I weight 148, 5'9" (69"), and have a wing span of 72". This bike is not made for everyone...not that any are, but if it fits...It's golden.
This coming from a guy that uses a 1098S as a touring bike, with no risers, no diff. seat, taller wind screen, etc.... Take it with a grain of salt.

I agree, if your body fits the bike then it is one hell of a fine ride and as said before, I almost wish I would not have sold mine. But the call for something different (new) beckoned and away it went. I have a feeling that my decision would have been different if there had been a track to take it on, but alas the PRH does not allow such things.

Best sports bike in that class...
Good price, good english quality and nice ergos even for the chubby ones.
I would take it anytime over a jap or even and 848

As long as he gets the black and gold I'll be fine with it.

Comparing the 675 to the 848 is pretty interesting. I spent a fair amount of time on both and while I thought the Daytona was a slightly sharper scalpel, the 848 was a bit more comfortable and had a bit more power. But, the 848 is a bit more damaging to the bank statement as well and costs a fair bit more to maintain that the 675 did. Either way you can't go wrong as long as you take the time and effort to set them up right.

You would have to find a used '08 special edition model to get that color scheme. I don't know how many were produced in total, but only two came down to the dealer here in Hawaii. Mine was one of them.

Not sure how much the OP weighs but the suspension on the 675 is pretty harsh too. I have an '09 in black (shame on you He Man for suggesting to not worry about the monoblocs and fully adjustable suspension!
) the stock spring is rated around 12.5, I weigh probably 165 with gear and should have 7.6 IIRC. Can you say ouch? I've had the spring replaced and it's noticeably better. Obviously replacing the suspension would be better still but it's not in the budget.
As far as comparing the 848 to the 675, there are some extensive reviews on triumph675.net from people who have both (I don't go there anymore because that site is now owned by Vertical Scope like TOB so make the beast with two backs them). I doubt you'll find the ergos on the 675 any better than the 848. It's a very aggressive position so I'm not sure you'll be happy with it. I still wonder if I'd have been happier with the Street Triple R which is basically a naked pre-09 675 with a re/de tuned engine.
The bike handles really well but as with any bike, you're not going to get the most out of it without getting the suspension set up for you.
And yes, the motor in the 675 is amazing. For me, it combines the fun off the line grunt of a twin and the high revving screaming HP of an I4. I missed the screaming from my GSX-R750 when I went to the S4RS but I don't miss that (motor wise) on the 675, there's big difference in torque obviously but I don't pine for the S4RS motor at all (even though with a race ECU & exhaust it was incredible).
If you want a comfortable sport bike, you want a GSX-R750. I know that's blasphemy to some but it really is an amazing combination of sporty handling and comfort. I rode from NYC to Montreal & back on one, I don't I'd be anywhere near as comfortable on either the 848 or 675. For the record, I have long arms so I'm not all that uncomfortable on the 675.
