Today is my birthday and for reasons I'm certain you all understand, I am posting a picture of my cake.

I asked my mother in law to make me a carrot cake, which she did (from scratch)

It's awesome!

The other piece of cake in the picture is one I made last weekend.  From a box 8)

It, too, is awesome!!

I figured since today is my day, there's no reason I should stick to a dessert plate tonight.

So a dinner plate it is :D

















































Anyone else have a favorite cake/dessert type thing?  Post up!

B says I make a mean carrot cake.  It just take too much time for me to make very often. 


My fav cake is a lemon cocoanut cake made by a local bakery.

Happy Birthday!

I love Carrot cake. Tony Levin had a great recipe in his book, "Beyond the Bass Clef" that I love.

I also make a chocolate cake that I let cool, them poke holes in the top with a wooden spoon handle.
Drizzle a can of sweetened condensed milk on top then a layer of Cool-Whip.
Top with some crumbled Heath bar.

Yummy.
