i don't think that truck was as stuck as it thought it was.  the truck got it self out the car helped.
I live vicariously thru myself......

Yeah, jsut a little help along. It's about the same as me 'pushing out' a Ford 250 a couple years back.  It just needed a tiny bit to get over the hump..
-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.

why is it so hard to believe that an awd 300+ hp car pulled a truck out?

Because HP is not torque, the gearing is not set up to tow things, and trucks are incredibly heavy by comparison. In inclement conditions, as shown, I would expect the car to just spin all four while the truck does nothin'.

with the right tires i think the car could do it.

i don't know if the turbo would spool properly though. lol

abby normal

spec. is 300 ft-lb at ~3000 rpm.  no low range though.  with stock tires,  the
STI would be spinning all 4.

The car was spinning all four-it wasn't pulling anything-it moved forawrd as the truck drove itself out.

Screams viral marketing to me.

Wondered the same as Mr.I -- I can't quite hear the language spoken in the clip, but it sounds maybe Flemish or could be one of the Balkan (edit: I meant Baltic, but I suppose it could be Balkan as well...) languages. The lettering on the truck (which doesn't appear on the screen enough to be a really effective ad for them...) is latin script but not English, so probably somewhere in Europe.

Hmmm, OK... the original YouTube poster wrote in Russian. Mine is really rusty, but it says something like "(Do you) Think the Subaru Impreza STI isn't prepared for Russian winter (and) roads? Maybe or maybe not (?) but It pulls the truck like a tractor."

Or if someone's more current in their Russian than me:

Ð"умаеÑ,е Subaru Impreza STI не предназначена для Российской зимы и дорог?! МожеÑ, быÑ,ÑŒ и не была, но грузовик или Ñ,ракÑ,ор из снега она выÑ,янеÑ,...!

This one's still impressive, though not as over the top:
