Scottish: Thanks for the interest! It is always encouraging to hear good, constructive criticism from other artists. I find your work fascinating. It seems almost like something out of a dream... sublime, colorful, and confusing in a good way. I am a perspective freak so I enjoy your use of it.

Troubled Bear: Your airbrush work on the Monster is incredible.

Now, I am about to jack this thread and turn it into a full blown show! Chyeah! Here are some of my more "mainstream" paintings.

and one more I promise....

Ok I am done. Enjoy!

I thought I'd celebrate the fact that I found a local artist with a forge & anvil who enjoys the (rather noisy) company of a blacksmith by putting up a quick mobile pic from yesterday:

I didn't take pictures of the work from yesterday yet, but here are some quick things I knocked out from scrap rebar a couple of weeks ago to give away/sell for Valentine's Day:

Thanks, Sitting Duck Studio http://sittingduckstudio.com/ for letting me sit in!

So what did the rest of you make in 2010 or get started in 2011???

I am amazed with the skills and talents you all seem to have.  bow down

The best thing I can make at the moment is a cup of tea and maybe a roast beef dinner!

Most recently, new parts for the Duc

Media rack out of an old bunk bed.  The jackass left the bed when he moved so it got, *ahem*, refunctioned.  I didn't do any beveling/routing due to lack of tools/shop at the moment.

Bike stand built from old bed frame and scrap lumber.

Unfortunately I look more like someone in between Greg Allman and the Brawny Papertowl guy. Bob Ross IS my hero though...

In my defense, I must add that the landscapes are what sells the easiest around my neck of the woods. The conservative Lancaster County people just don't get anything else.

Here is some new stuff

So I discovered that the battery clamp on the ST2 had developed a crack & was on the verge of failure, right as I was suiting up to ride over to the metal shop where i've been smithing lately. What to do? Zip-tied it in place for the ride, and hand-forged a quick replacement.

The flat stock I used was the right size to begin with, but after I forged the spiral & the tab for the screw mount, I couldn't resist peening the edges and smacking all of the visible surfaces so it'd look a little more rustic and, you know, hand made...

Pretty much all of this stuff is awesome, most of it beyond my capabilities.

I have stuff to add after I sober up.
