Probably standard.  It was new on tap.

I might be a little hesitant to drink anything named "Maximus" Undecided or  vomit

It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

Oh no. If you like hoppy IPAs, you owe it to yourself to try it.

I haven't been all that impressed with Lagunitas although It seems like I always get an IPA in my hands from them, and I'm not big on IPA. So mebbe they have something else. Is the Brown Shugga an IPA?

BTW it's a nice ride out to and past Lagunitas to Hwy 1

Im still trying to figure out the connection between there and Petaluma where the brewery is.

Brown Shugga's more of a strong ale/barleywine style, so less hoppy than an IPA but higher gravity. Lagunitas Sucks was supposed to be a Brown Shugga substitute, but to me drinks more like an IPA. IMHO, their beers are solid, but as you say, not impressive. They seem to favor the hoppy beers, too, so slim pickings if you're not a hophead.

I haven't been out to the left coast for awhile, but I'm sure Hwy 1 and surrounding areas are still epic. Post up if/when you find a good route.  waytogo

I know of lots of good routes north of S.F. And even a few to the south. It depends on what kind of day you want to have.  Dolph

Had a great beer weekend, Friday got to finally add Russian River's Pliny the Elder to my drunk list. and then went out to get my yearly allotment of Foothill's Sexual Chocolate. Both wonderful.

Saturday I found some Ballast Point grapefruit sculpin. (a tough get here in coastal NC)

and yesterday I had a few yummy home brews of my own while doing yard work.

Today my liver rest waytogo

I've been drinking:

LOKI RED ALE
This beer was named in the 2013 Top Ten by Willamette Week Magazine. Named for the Norse god Loki, the Trickster. A high spirited beer that is a bit on the sneaky side, just like ol' Loki. A generous helping of Tomahawk and Galena hops with a distinct English brown malt background. Those of you who have trouble choosing between the richer, malty ales and the bitter IPAs may find nirvana in this beer. OG= 1.072 / FG= 1.015 / 68-IBUs / 7.5% alcohol
AVAILABLE IN 16 OUNCE CANS
