Yeah, it does make a difference. After 05 they went to the same plastic (smaller capacity) tanks as the S2R...

My bike started sputtering as I pulled into the gas station last year.
Don't want to cut it that close again.

Nonsense-where does that leave those of us who've sputtered into the gas station?

5 blocks from gas station. The bike died on a turn (city block so i wasnt goin more than 3 mph) and when i started her up again, she was running super lean i guess casue she idled at 3500rpm. I got her to speed, killed the engine, and jsut rolled to the gas station. Still couldnt pass 3.2 gallons though. wtballs. stupid gas tanks. My old bike held 3.8!!!!

2005 Motogiro d'Italia, no idea where I am and I know the Monster I'm on is going to need gas soon. I tell the guide - yeah, sure no problem. We take off. No gas stations. Yellow light starts flickering, no stations. Light's on steady now. No station. Climbing a hill, the engine stumbles, I move over to the shoulder, the engine dies just as I crest the hill. Dead engine, coast down the hill... right into the gas station. Rolled right up to the pump.

No lie.

It was Italy. Things just have a way of working out in Italy.

How about pulling into the parking lot after a field trip and having a 9-ton diesel stall as you roll into the parking space?
