I have had back, neck and shoulder pain  since I was 16. Have been going to a chiropractor off and on since then. I should go more regularly, I always feel better when I do. Make sure he's a good one. Several members of my family see my Chiro regularly. He's a good guy. Helped me alot when I had a siatic(sp?) nerve inflamation, I'd still be lame in one leg if he hadn't helped me. I get a neck adjustment every time I go, and has nearly always been a good thing. A couple times it didn't help. and possibly exposed the problem more. But after the next visit a week later, he fixed the issue.

I've had chiro for multiple lower back, upper back, and neck issues from old sports injuries.

+1 to the "find the root of the problem / don't get addicted" comments.

Chiro manipulation is great for either temporary relief or as part of a comprehensive therapy package, but won't solve the problems all by itself.  Any worthwhile chiro practitioner is going to help you develop a therapy program to re-train the muscles so that the adjustments "take," and don't need to be constantly re-done.  If you stick the the therapy you'll need the adjustments less over time... don't do the therapy, and you'll feel like you constantly need adjustments for relief.

Well why are you asking about acupuncture?

To relieve inflammation in my shoulder socket due to all the surgeries I have had.

I don't know your situation, but a pair of friends have had good luck using inversion boots to address chronic back pain. I've tried them out of curiosity and -- although it's a little unnerving at first -- definitely got a little temporary relief from some very minor lower back tightness.

I'm not aware of any adverse issues with them (aside from looking goofy) but you'd probably want to ask your doctor/chiropractor first to make sure, especially if you've got injuries that are causing your pain.

Good luck.

Homer: Hey, that feels slightly better
Dr Steve:  I thought it might. Now I need to see you three times a week for... many years.

I've been to one, thought it felt good, but I wasn't dealing with long-term or chronic pain.  I don't think the science is there to support the claimed benefits, but then science is not good at proving you feel better or worse.

I had never been to a chiropractor until I started dating one.  Before I got adjusted I never felt like my back hurt, but afterward I felt any little misalignment.  I'm a believer in not going to a chiro unless absolutely necessary because I think it made me into a nancy.

BTW, never date a chiropractor unless you're really into holistic healing.  She made me give up white bread and tried to get me to do a gallbladder cleanse, not as pleasant as you think.  [puke]

Find a chiropractor that went to the Palmer Institute.

Best in the game.

Since our zip code is in proximity, got any recommendation?  PM me please if possible.

Actually, that doesn't sound pleasant at all. :P

I haven't done a search for a chiropractor as i currently have no need for one due to my condition is something a chiropractor can't correct.

I'd google palmer institute chiropractor and dublin/columbus ohio.

Best I got.

or

look at all the chiropractor practices around and call to see if any of them have graduated from this institution.

Come Kopjager.

You haven't responded to my comment yet.

or are you just being your typical self?

Didn't know Chiro's were in the business of dealing conditions like mine.

There is something about gallbladder cleansing that just sounds nasty and painful. Ugh!! [bang] I'd rather have mine all dirtied up thank you very much. [laugh]
