I've finally acquired a source for cubans here in LA.  The guy owns a really nice cigar bar here, now that I'm introduced it seems I now have access to some very nice Montecristos and others of the 'illegal' nature. Pretty cool, even though my views haven't changed that non cubans can be just as good if not better.  Still, nice to have an 'in' in something :)

Oh good, it's not just me that thinks cigars go well with ice cream.

Cigar and hot chocolate is a god combo too

I'll have to give that a shot this coming Fall.

CAO Brazilia and El Rico Habana.. both very good, IMO

Coming from more of a pipe smoking background, a buddy of mine got me started on the cigar thing just before I left Hawaii.  Now I find myself enjoying cigars more and more.  Rgr, do you pick up sticks from anywhere particular here in the DC area, or mainly order online?

rgramjet

Mainly mail order.

Signature Cigars and Bethesda Tobacco have nice humidors with good selections.

I end up at the place on King Street every once in a while......its aiight, the guy running it has an attitude like he knows he is the only game in town.

You going to get your bike cleaned today?  If I can peel myself away from Familial duty for a couple hours, I might make it.  Ill bring a couple of treats.

I don't know, maybe.  I thought about it, but like Ian, I would rather do that sort of stuff myself.  Well, wash the bike that is, not prance about in a bikini.  ;)

What time are you headed up if you go?

Leave 1:30-2 somewhere around there.  Pm me if youre going

Had a CAO Brasilia the other night, with a glass of Woodford.  Sat out on the balcony and enjoyed both of them as the electrical storms rolled in.   [thumbsup]

I started to like the CAO Italias, never had the Brasilia.  I've got a lot of various Glenmorangie scotches leftover from my Scotch-a-cigar-a-palooza I've been wanting to try out, never could get fully into whiskey.  A had a romeo y julieta with a glass of Lion's Peak port last night, that went together nicely with a book on the patio.

Dante, we had one of your Romeo y Juliet's the other night, it was absolutely superb. If you ever need a hook up for authentic cubans, let us know.

I haven't read this whole thread but one of my favorite sticks would be the Macanudo Gold.

A very mild somewhat sweet smoke due to it's use of the upper most prime Connecticut shade wrapper leaves and filler.

I like the 7x49 size.

They cost about $8 / stick.

Glad you liked it man, and thanks for the Cuban offer.  Now I've got a source for Cuban's and Bacon awesomeness, all in one.  Can't get much better than that  ;D

I did notice you go with the longer sticks.  I've got a friend here who buys Churchills with the intention to only smoke half of it cause he says the last half isn't very enjoyable for him.  Do you find that's the case as well?

Stopped by a place up in Bethesda to get a few more sticks on my way home from work today.  Grabbed another Brasilia, and decided to try a Padron Anniversary and a La Flor Dominicana.  Looking forward to it cooling off a bit later this evening so I can go enjoy one of them.   [thumbsup]
