I was the audio mixer on that spot.
It is a 696; notice the right mirror has black tape holding it on, the actress dropped the bike initially.
The sound is also not that of a monster, it is an 851 from our sound effects library. I offered to do some passes in my 695 but we were pressed for time.
The owner of the production company Brain Farm chose it because the monster looks 'badass'. I agree.

For really real? You worked that ad and I posted it first?
As for that second line... I hope she is better in bed than on a bike then.

Hey guys...
As much as I'd like to say 696 (because I own one)...I see a single-sided swingarm. Looks like 1100 to me, with 696 plastics. [edit: also just now seen the plastic reservoirs on the bars of the 1100]
Also, the picture vehicles on something like this usually get picked by the director...with plenty of bullshit input from the creative director at the advertising agency. Dante, was the director ALSO the guy who runs BrainFarm?
Too bad you have to break it to everybody here that car shoots are almost always MOS (i'll leave it to you to explain what MOS is for everybody else
)

Well to start, Black card is owned individually and the Visa insignia is literally paid for to appear on the card. Black Card has no official affiliation with Visa. The owner of Black Card called the guys at Brain Farm (
http://www.brainfarmcinema.com/
) to make a series of commercials that look like mini movies that feature a ton of black vehicles (I actually didn't have the time to take notice of the swingarm, and I was using temp picture, but either way that women did a number on it).
There was no agency involved, which is odd. Normally you'd have a bunch of douchey creatives giving their out of touch opinions, resulting in a spot so convoluted and random that it doesn't accomplish anything (notice anything in this years Superbowl ads?) For Black Card, the owner had the vision and his requirements, and the production team of Brain Farm got it done. Total budget, $300,000. Believe or not, that's extremely frugal.
Ahhh, MOS! Essentially MOS means without sound. There are numerous theories for the MOS acronym, but my favorite is that the early German Hollywood directors would pronounce "without sound" as "Mit Out Sound", and this MOS stuck. Other say it stands for things such as minus optical sound, muted on screen, and motor only sync. I like the German story more.
The scene wasn't necessarily shot MOS, but it certainly wasn't useable.

I was surprised to see your post, I didn't even think to post it up here, I'm so used to my projects being under lock and key until they air.

Yea, would have been fun to hear my bike on tv. I bet there would be a few DMF'ers who'd hear it and say, "hmm, that sounds like an exbox exhaust."
I might be doing a short animated comedy soon where a hunter on a bike is chasing an armadillo, and I'll totally be using the sound of my bike for that one.

You have good eyes too, I now see it does have the reservoirs and the wheels of an 1100. No clear shot of the right side of the SSS, but I guess the left side would be distinctive as well.
